There's a lot of groups that does that! I also experienced the same thing. I wasn't really sniped cause they asked permission to take over my translations BUT they never translated it. I really wanted to translate the series but they asked me to stop but ughhhh. This is why I dislike some scanlating groups that snipes/take advantage of solo translators! I hope the other scans group would stop sniping.
