Actually... before he was captured by the emperor, he was sent as a slave by his family. At that point, he did not really have much of a choice. Slaves dont have human rights before. Anyway, after that, because of "fate" or "karma", he was captured by the emperor. Again, he cant do anything about it. Now, seeing the emperor's interest on him, of course he would retaliate because (1) he was traumatized, (2) he does not want to be raped. he would rather DIE than give himself to the emperor, (3) he just wants to run away cause he knows that the emperor will like him, regardless of anything, cause that is his karma. they are controlled by this "fate"/"karma" stuff and lastly (4) he is scared that the emperor will regain his MEMORIES like him.
