from my understanding, Jihyun was molested by that neighbor for quite some time, starting from when he was a toddler. The neighbor was/is a pedophile and was very manipulative and told Jihyun those things so he could use him to fulfill whatever messed desires he had in his head. At some point Jihyun told his mom about it, which is why she was crying, but instead of taking him to get professional help or to a hospital, in order to avoid a paper trail and i guess the embarassment that taking him to the hospital would cause her/the family, she told him to keep it to himself and they’ll deal with it on their own and theres no need to seek help. Idk if you noticed but there was a cross on the wall during that scene which implies that the family is religious and his mom did not want the situation to be known to others.
Because Jihyun never got help and was never really able to heal from the trauma of being molested from such a young age he developed “Satyriasis” which made him hyper sexual. I hope this helps clarify!
We should also point out that he was emotionally abused from the time he was a toddler (aside from the sexual aspect). To make him more malleable, easy to control, the abused told him and made him believe he’s not worthy of love or being loved. Believing this so young is so shocking and painful.
