I say most likely because it’s unconfirmed whether the spell changes his gender identity and makes his thoughts different but as it hasn’t been mentioned this is most likely not the case.
2. Whether Rui is bisexual or not cannot be confirmed with the information we have. Rui hasn’t talked about his dating and attraction history in great detail. We only know he’s a playboy who’s fucked lots of girls. He was willing to engage in sexual activity with Shion without a second thought but it was due to their fondness for each other. That isn’t to say that Rui isn’t attracted to other males. I think you worded this part of your comment wrong because most people here aren’t assuming Rui is bi because he slept with Shion as a woman but because he didn’t hesitate to jerk him off and then sleep with him as a man.
3. Gender identity isn’t everything. Your sex still matters. Especially to a visual person like Rui. Shion even states how appearance focused Rui’s taste in women is. Even if Shion is mentally a male in his female body to Rui, Shion is a female version of his best friend. Rui considers him his best friend. But still female. And when he changes back he’s male. It’s not readers randomly coming up with this. Using trans people as an example, most appearance focused people won’t register them as their preferred gender unless they pass (when it comes time to engage in sexual activity). That’s unfortunately just what happens. You can’t force people to be attracted to a sex they don’t see as appealing.
4. Continuing on that idea fujoshi are usually straight women. They’re not attracted to other women. Of course they think it’s less hot. Straight porn is hot to straight women bc women put themselves in the place of the girl in the video. But fujos don’t want to self insert with female shion. They just want to observe. Or maybe even self insert with rui. I find it more common to self insert with the seme rather than the uke when reading yaoi (tho I don’t do either this is an observation). So it makes sense that straight women that aren’t attracted to women find this story less hot than smth like bj Alex. And that’s ok. I love boy love because generally speaking the relationship progression is more realistic I hate how helpless and stupid females tend to be in romance manga or worse the authors make it seem like females has no sexual desire at all.
