It was because the author didn't like the overall design of the settings/characters, such Jonghak being blonde instead of white haired. They do look much better now.

It's just a remake of the original manhwa and not of the story itself. So far, the manhwa has been following novel fairly well minus some missing details here and there due to adaptation limitations. That scene may still happen as long as the writer and artist deem it necessary.

It doesn't. It's not condescending to genuinely want to know why so many people drop in and ask for story details when there's already a summary and tags to give you that hint. A LOT of times people are just asking for spoilers when they can just take their time to read it.
