Not yet, but they have in actions. As stoic as Asami is, I think he shows it more (showing up wherever Akihito is, fireworks display, ruffling Akihito's hair in public, personally picking him up from Hong Kong, etc) since we don't get to hear his thoughts like we do Akihito's. I'm hoping they say it eventually.

I kind of like how they don't just say they like each other. They use their actions and at times understand each other. They aren't the usual, cliche couple, so don't expect any time soon to confess their love for each other.

Do you think they understand? I think we readers understand and can read their feelings in their actions but I don't think it's as clear to Asami and Akihito. I think there's still some uncertainty for both of them that would be cleared up if they'd just say something concrete. Communication has been a problem with these two from the start.

yeah i noticed they've already came this long with the story without saying iloveyou to one another but i noticed its more of asami showing his affections to aki.. just that aki is kinda stubborn and deny it, but its good that hes supportive to asami he just dont know how to show it. Im also glad hes so humble without being fascinated with the status of asami and use it for him to climb to a higher status, he didnt desire any of it for that i love him as he is, and thats what asami love's about him too. if aki would find him self a girlfriend (because asami and aki are not real lovers) would you think: 1)that asami would be mad and drives them apart or 2)that asami would capture aki for real and lock him up just like fei long did or 3) that he would just be happy for him ^^ ???

Well, option option 3, would never happen, he won't give up Aki to anyone, not even to a girl. As for option 2, Asami won't lock Aki up because he wants Aki by his own will. When Aki ran away from Asami and after he came back he said to lock him up in his house if Asami wanted to. And Asami got angry so its clear Asami wants Aki to stay with him out of his own will. As for option 1, I think he won't let Aki get close to a girl in a romantic sense. And moreover, I think Aki is too caught up with Asami, he doesn't have anyone else his mind except for Asami. Asami will never let him go, he said, 'If you betray me, Ill track you down, even to the ends of abyss".

Aki is more like, he doesn't completely submit to Asami. He even feels like he gets sucked into Asami's world of darkness. Aki is stubborn and has got his pride as a man and he refuses to be looked down upon, that's why he struggles to get on top. He doesn't want to lead an easy life. I admire that about him. And obviously Asami also loves that side of him. But they really ought to communicate more, Aki can get insecure at times.

What makes you think they're not real lovers?

Oh yeah, I forgot to ask that. @Yaoilovers. They are indeed lovers. They may not be open about it, but they are definitely lovers.

What do you mean they are not real lovers? You do not have to say what you are to be what you are. I think if anyone gets in Asami's way, he will erase that person (regardless of gender). I also think it is impossible for Aki to be happy with anyone who is not Asami. Unless Asami gets a sex change, Aklli will not be happy with a girl.

Fuck buddies do not live together--and they do not risk their lives for each other. Asami has told Aki that Aki belongs to him, and Aki has admitted he belongs to Asami. Aki wouldn't have the time to meet up with her. Well if he does, Asami would find out about it, remember that Asami has Aki followed by a man. Asami would confront him and he will remind him again that he can't escape from him and maybe he won't allow Aki to meet him with a girl.

Its just as Anoni Grrl said Aki and Asami belong to each other. If they were just fuck buddies Asami wouldn't go to Hong kong to rescue Aki from Fei, he wouldn't Aki to move in with him, Asami is a careful man of course he wouldn't let a fuck buddy stay at his house. In their relation Actions speak louder than words. Just because they haven't confessed doesn't mean they are just fuck buddies. I hope now you understand that they are lovers without having the need to confess.

i'm currently reading all the yaoi (those who are completed) right now i'm at page 5... so i now a lot of them (ps i now some ungoing as wel)
and in every one of them, if they not say 'i love/like you' they themself think of them are fuckbubbies if the relationship is a long one...
but don't get me wrong, i now that it does not count for all of them. and i really like the way they doing things... i really do think that they are lovers and stuff, it was just my going on about the 'what if' situation. ^^

Even if Aki met with her, he would find she is no longer so attractive. No one else can make Aki feels what Asami does. The woman will seem sweet in a sort of "wasn't it cute when we were kids?" way,but there will be no slow growing closeness because Aki does not crave sweet or cute. He craves what only Asami can give him. Asami's heat is stronger than some girl's warmth.

I am glad you are enjoying your reading. I know everyone has his or her own interpretations of what is on the page. There isn't a template for how yoai stories must go, but I think it is alt like real life. Sometimes people say pretty words, but they are just having sex, and other times they say few words if any, but their actions show you what they mean. In Yaoi, I often see a theme where one person "confesses" or is more into the relationship, where as the other refuses to admit it in words unless pressed. But when push comes to shove, the reluctant partner does have feelings. So you will see this:

The "tyrant' won't say "I love you" or admit they are lovers, but he throws a hissy fit when his partner suggest they are "sex friends"--because how could anyone suggest such a thing? Ift he tyrant had no feelings, he would not do such things.

I see a parallel with Aki (although of course they have completely different personalities). After Aki sees Asami with someone else, Aki starts thinking about how the relationship is probably temporary anyway, and trhows his own little fit (though he is not as direct):

When Asami asks if there is anyone else who can satisfy Aki, Aki says only Asami will do. That's pretty clear. If they were just fuck buddies, Asami wouldn't ask, amnd Aki would not answer.

Yes. Sometimes characters have conflicting feelings, or don't want to admit to what they really feel. It adds to the drama. Then I usually look for things like possessiveness and not wanting to let the other be in danger to indicate feelings. There are other ways to indicate feelings: taking care of the other person, going out of their way to get things the other person likes, making sacrifices for the other...etc. When it is just sex buddies, you don't see that.

Ah, yes, in that example one person says "I love you" in words (at least in the English translation), but the other does not. "Special' is something,but then, so is Asami saying "You belong to me" and "If you are with me, I will always have my sweet juice." in return, Aki says things like how he could only think of Asami when he was kidnapped,and how if they die, he wants to die together. Both Asami and Aki have said things to indicate that the other is "special".

I am not sure why you are so into words. Actions mean so much more. Sudouh told Asami that he would do anything for Asami,but Sodouh was lying and cheating Asami all along. Also, there are many options besides 'I love you" and "fuck buddy". Most relationships progress a bit more slowly and have more complexity.

Even if this were the only yaoi where the love was implied instead of stated (which I do not believe is true), in *this* story the love is very much implied.

like i said, i know all that and it is just me being stubborn.
i'm not really in to 'words' and i really like this sort of manga with all my heart (so to speak) and i now manga where they are lovers whitout they saying i love you.
but i also now manga where they don't say it they fight if they really love one other, or where they don't say it and become just fuckbubbies and break up ...
but then again this is me who don't now how to give up in situations like 'this' :p
