After wasting time and money looking for him, Daimon thought Kojima had finally discarded him like trash. In reality, Kojima (the blond masochist malewife) left because he fell in love with Daimon and his 'kindness'; kojima knew he's too toxic for Daimon. Before he left, Kojima made plans that would ensure Daimon's 'happiness'-- from his promotion and great job performance down to his current relationship and marriage with Sudou (daimon's female coworker).

Sudou knew this and was in on it with Kojima.

Daimon learns the truth in the car with her when a formerly bankrupt client calls to say thanks to him and his coworker(kojima). Kojima had apparently brought a distinguished old guy from China to offer the broke client a big loan, saving the company in the process. Kojima's action reflects his superior's management, his superior being Daimon, boosting his career again. Sudou's grandfather lives in China and is in the business of loans. Daimon connected the dots and voila! He learns that the happiness he has with Sudou is false because she hid these 2 facts from him: she has always known where kojima is and she has always known that kojima did not abandon him
