The original story of King Arthur is was more tragic, as in the mythological stories he married Guinevere then she cheated with Lancelot who loved her so much that he searched for the golden Grail so he could take her away and then Arthur got the tea about those two and wanted to punish the queen by burying her at stake; Lancelot heard about it and went to save her by battling K.A which eventually led to the fall of his kingdom (he also had a son Mordred) also it's true that Merlin was a wise magician who made Arthur hide during childhood at his uncle's (as in the story)
