MC allowed this to happen because he's been friends with purple hair for a while and trusts him, and feels abandoned by black hair who is still bonded to purple hair at this point in tbe story. Purple hair also seems to be purposely elusive about who he is, his past and connection to black hair. They're both manipulative pieces of shit, just purple hair is more discreet with it

I agree. The story is mightier than the art, lol. I seldom look at comments for this anymore…..just constant Art complaints and little discussion of anything else. I get people want to express their thoughts, but seriously? By this time everyone’s had their say so, now it’s just like boring repetitive nagging.

art is an important medium. sometimes if the art is too bizarre you end up getting taken out of the story and it ruins the plot. and it hurts more when you know that the story had a perfectly good art style that was changed for an unexplained reason and now a lot of people's favourite novel is going to shit cuz of it
I know exactly what you mean. I had one story I loved where the art change was so extreme I couldn’t get past it. Can’t remember the name, but the villainous was Rosemund. A new season started and the males looked like little boy tin soldiers wearing make up and the females looked like kewpie dolls. I’m not exaggerating. Worst art I’ve ever seen. That’s the only time I dropped a story because of art. I made my comment on the crappy art and dropped it. The end.
I completely understand the frustration of having a great story ruined by art changes. It’s just there’s only so much that can be said about it. If people decide to overlook the art changes because they love the story more than hate the changes, it’d be nice to have discussions about the story. Those that can’t get past it, once they get their frustrations out, they can just drop it. Maybe it takes longer for some to make that choice. Either way, that’s why I stay away from comments on certain stories. Like the stories with big age gaps between fl and ml, lol. Comments stay toxic on those.
