I don't hate Noah. Out of all the stories I've read , he is not even top 20 of the worst male characters. That said, I don't think they should end up together. The man had 6 yrs with her. Yeah there was a contract and understanding and all but he liked her enough to keep prolonging the contract . Why couldn't he give her a sense of security that he liked her for her and not just because she was convenient??
I do believe just because you are a surrogate does not make you the kids mother. But she didn't just give birth to them. She RAISED them. That definitely makes her their mother. How can he not let the kids call her mother.
All in all, I get why River doesn't hate Noah. He did nothing abusive towards her. He made a contract and he stood by it. But he cant expect anymore from her either after only treating her as a contract partner.
River left not because Noah abused her but because she wants her own family after being alone all her life. And knowing Noah, he definitely would not have supported her pregnancy. River deserves her own family who put her first too.

I agree with everything except that he didn't abuse her because he kinda mentally abused her throughout the marriage with not letting the kids call her mom or reminding her about the contract often and the tip of the iceberg was finding his ex's sister and not telling river like dude you didn't realize how wrong that was? 10/10 post

You are sooo right!! Usually surrogates would never be called mother of the child they carry for others, but the fact that he married her and had her raise them, cancels out the whole “calling her mother” thing. Noah was the one who created the contract rules but blurred the boundaries. He always said that she’s not a real lover/mother and not to get her hopes up, but chooses to have sex with her?? Which is so unnecessary, especially not needing to do that as a surrogate. His excuse was that he has to have his “needs” met. Also the fact that he let them be close as a family and go out on vacations. If he wanted to not let her great the wrong idea, he should’ve kept the proper distance and never interact with her more than he has to.

I don't understand at all.
What did Kincheol give up for Haesoo?? Both of them grew up in the same slum.
Did he turn down a scholarship for her? No. Did he lose his opportunities for her? No.
Then why is she responsible for his debt?
I don't get it.

Getting older he hated the choice he made back then, he feels responsible he also feels she is responsible in a way, he is a very unhappy person, thats why he wants to keep a sort of a connection with her to make her feel bad and guilty because he hates himself for what he has become and her as well.

I mean, nothing of what became of his life is Na Haeso fault, she didn’t demanded anything - all of it was his decisions. But! As I understood the shady classmate, Mincheol could’ve had a rich girlfriend and have an easy life, he also was a good student and gave up college to hurry up and work so he could take Na Haeso out of her abusive household.

But what choice did he make? Not going to college to work?? But he didnt have money for college anyway. So why is she responsible for that? Why did she feel guilty everytime he took out a loan?? Man i don't understand
I understand him wanting to make her unhappy too but how is cheating going to help that?

What I inferred was:
By moving & running away with Hae-soo, Mincheol sacrificed his chance to go to college. Thus, making it much much more difficult to graduate from poverty.
This is because:
- He used up a substantial chunk of his savings to buy a house
- to sustain their already meager lifestyle, he'll have to work constantly & would have little to no time to study
- the money he earns will be used to house & feed Hae-soo, instead of funding for his tuition
Moreover:
- his friend was hinting that if Mincheol became the boyfriend of the rich girl, she would have helped alleviate some of the financial burden
He basically sacrified his future just so Hae soo can run away faster from her abusive parent
Just read the 1st chap and didn't understand anything
The story is told out of order for a bit! It starts off with establishing scenes between our main couple (presumably so you know it gets happier/ you have cute stuff to look forward to) then jumps back to tell the story of the uke's childhood (it's pretty sad tbh) up to their first meeting. The rest of the story is fairly chronological, but we do get bits and pieces of the seme's backstory peppered throughout! It's only confusing for the first few chapters I promise! And so so so worth it!!! ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~
