I don’t want to call her a rapist because it implies something very serious like threatening someone. What she did was SA, she didn’t respect Sori’s boundaries, but she didn’t threaten her to get what she wanted. Even tho the definition varies from person to person, we gotta think of the context before using the R word.

They are partners and had consensual relations before. Sori disrespected her and pushed it too far without her consent because she was mad, but she didn’t use physical violence (we can argue that she’s stronger than Iseul and used that to her advantage) and even if Iseul tried to physically push her away in some moments during that whole scene, we as readers have the privilege to know what was going on through her mind (and Sori’s too) while everything was happening… The whole thing is too delicate for us to be calling it rape when we can use the umbrella term, SA.

Everything that happened in that scene is wrong and should never happen in a relationship, but no I ain’t calling Sori as RAPIST and putting her in the same category as people who put a knife to someone’s throat or violently beats them to have non-consensual sex.

And for all we know, the ex did the same shit to Iseul. Coerced her to do it despite the mood not being right. We don’t know. So chill a little bit and think of the facts. The ex is a manipulator, she doesn’t want to let it go, she married her fucking brother, she is stalking her, trying to get in the way of her new relationship, etc. Yeah, I do think that the stalker groomer ex who keeps referring to the time Iseul was a teenager like “haha you were so cute haha” and she herself was a whole ass young adult. The ex is 30 iirc, that’s 3-4 years older, there was a clear power imbalance and she still wants to use it to this day. She acts condescending to Iseul and like she knows what she needs better.

The ex fucking sucks. And we don’t know the full story. But to get to the point in which she is hiring PIs to investigate Iseul while she is out of the country, that shit screams red flags.

The ex represents a past love that died the day that woman married her brother to Iseul, while to the ex Iseul is someone she owns because she loves her and did things unilaterally (marry into her family) for the sake of power within the family. She is acting under the idea that if Iseul loved her once she can’t grow put of love despite the absurdity of it all. And she won’t admit it. She calls back to the past constantly. She asks people to stalk Iseul and know every detail of her life.

So yeah, that bitchass ass is the typical manipulator ex who wants to force the MC into something she doesn’t want. And on top of that she’s a stalker… using her fucking money to stalk her ex who is minding her business…

And readers will be more mad at those who complain of rape. Fucked up situation but our natural reaction is the more messed up one huh.

i agree with both of yall. i feel like readers have a right to complain if they don’t like the story and decide to drop it. most bl (unfortunately) contain rape. it’s up to the reader if they decide to continue reading. if they do, that’s fine. if they don’t, that’s also fine.

It’s a normal reaction to seeing rape too. I don’t like rape scenes but I continue to read it because I know rape isn’t the storyline if that makes sense, so obviously I won’t leave.
