I think I remember the implication that the ML could be a reincarnation of a telepathic dude who “saved all his points”, but when did they talk about the two of them meeting in every time line. Iinm it's not grooming. Grooming is actively trying to make a sexual or romantic relationship with a minor, but MC never did that. He's a messed up guy and it's not in my area of expertise to tap into his shit, but as far as I understood, he never really groomed the ML.
