I definitely believe that either the prince/king or queen dowager had something to do with the curse. The queen dowager could have done so because she knew her son was desiring FL and wanted to ruin her reputation (like she keeps constantly forcing the FL to stay in public places when she’s not feeling well/the curse is acting up knowing she won’t be able to resist). The king could have done it because he desires her and knew the only way he’d be able to be with her that way is if she physically/mentally can’t resist? Cause she 100% views him as family and would never view him how he views her.

Y’all are getting so upset that based on the cover, she ends up with Ryan as a duchess instead of with Jake. But like doesn’t she deserve to actually have a choice this time, she decided to live the life she wants after all. Also as a duchess, and with Jake presumably as crown prince, she’d still have a high enough status/reputation to advise and assist the kingdom.
It's the fact that he does nothing except knowing she likes roasted chicken and cloudy skies. At least the 2nd prince actively tried to help her. Sure she can have a choice, but her first choice was already stupid af (deciding to follow the crown prince) so why should she pick something shallow again? The problem really is just that her options are shallow but the 2nd prince is the least shallow one. The only reason she'll pick the chicken guy is because he has black hair.
