I am impressed that the MC never thought (just thinking about it) about going to the police with his mother. Like, if he did it discretely, things would have gone easier. I may ask too much, but wow, he is just a lost case acting like a big shot and always doing the bad choice.

I am appalled at the way he easily talk about crime with his ex-boyfriend that tries helping him, but he is all "heh, I lost, there is nothing I can do" with the old man. Be fatalist as much as you can, but don't reject people's kindness and worries! His personality is just awful.
