Wow. This story was amazing- I literally had chills while reading. The devotion, the fleshed-out characters, the backstories, the determination, the love and devotion Sak and Lima had for each other- chef’s kiss.
My only critique would be the ending. This could have EASILY had another season (or two). I wish we had a more in-depth backstory on the virus and the other characters at the academy. It felt like readers were only given a vague understanding of their purpose, motives, and the events and people that led up to this point.
The time skip from the cliff scene to them living in the North felt like there were missing chapters in between. Honestly, it left me a bit disappointed. I was relieved that they were safe and at peace, but the ending felt so… anticlimactic after such an intense climax- and such a pivotal point in the story. Like, hello?! We just found out Sak has two core powers and has awakened an unwavering devotion toward Lima! He’s a walking S Tier threat that can collapse the Academy just through his existence. He is the biggest anomaly- a cure and a hazard. That’s huge and an entire plot line in itself!
I really wanted another arc delving into this new development… and I wish we could have met other core users :(
But overall, this was great- especially for Yaoi standards. Hell, for stories in general. Great concept, great plot, and great characters. Easily a five-star rating from me.
