I feel like it was the governer who killed his mother. The emperor only wanted the village dead, I doubt he knew about the mother and son living in a completely different place. I mean, it was nowhere near the village. Why would the emperor who wanted to see the imai die walk all the way to their house just to shoot one imai?
My conclusion is the governer killed the mother because he knew that the imai lived for his mother. Isolating him would mean that he has no one else to rely on but him. Especially if you're going to act kind unlike every other person the imai has met. And he even has the perfect scapegoat to blame the murder on. No one would doubt that it wasn't the Emperor considering his past and the fact that the weapon was used.
Now, we must remember that the imai has no feelings of attachment to the tribe. His hatred towards the Emperor is fuelled by the fact that he killed his mother. If it is revealed that he actually did not kill his mother, the imai would feel nothing towards the emperor. Atleast not the raging vengeance he feels now. And voilà! We have now redeemed the Emperor and given the Imai a clear route to his ending with the Emperor.
The brother will most probably die or be exiled. It's sad considering he's a nice person who killed the mother. And the Emperor is an ass who kills people but just not the Imai's mother. But who knows? Maybe the emperor is going to be given an extremely sad backstory to how he became the way he did. Maybe the brother was responsible. Especially considering that one of the Emperor's guard spied on him. We're most probably going to be given a complete 180° role reversal.
Anyways, the art is pretty. I'm bored. I'll just read it. I mean, even if the plot is going to go exactly the way I described it, I'll still eat it up because it's fiction and it's something that will allow me to forget reality. And the name really does not suggest otherwise. Although it says toxin and not toxic. Is the posion in the Imai the toxin? Is it his presence in the Emperor's life? Or is both the Emperor and the Imai the toxins to each other?
I wonder if the poison is going to be an arc that we will read. Maybe they'll try to find a cure? Or maybe the Imai is not posionous considering he's a half breed and also has no name? It might be one of those scenes where the MC and ML fall for each other. Who knows? I actually can't wait to read how it will all unfold.

I see a lot of people hating on the ML but I don't understand why. The lives of so many were at stake because of the corruption, his dream was to relieve them of this pain. His dream was not to become the head or become powerful but to save people. I understand a lot of people would do anything for their lover but he lived through the poverty, knew how it was to be starved. Knew that he had to save all these people.
Saving the princess was a choice if she had decided to go to the monastery but she is human. She knew she wouldn't be able to live on knowing she was betrayed by her lover. She chose death, he gave it to her. He was heartbroken as well. He decided to live on with the pain and to make sure her sacrifice didn't go to vain and actually made the place better.
Tim, also another understandable character, goes through the pain of reliving his past through stories where he is the horrible villain. Obviously people will go crazy. I think the author had dome a pretty amazing job depicting each character. This is how a real human would act in such a circumstance. We have read too many isekai manga where they return to the past, take revenge or become extra powerful but she knew even though she was pure, she was ignorant.

Honestly right now, we can neither blame Helena or Eris. Both of them are in the wrong. Helena for keeping quiet when she knows Eris works hard and pushes herself to be worthy in front of the Prince. When the Stupid Prince treats Eris that bad in front of everyone after she worked so hard, it's heartbreaking. Especially when Helena was the person both the Queen and Prince liked, when she didn't do things as amazing as she did. She was loved by the Prince simply for her Naivety. Now we know she isn't naïve but is just trying to not fall into trouble with her mum or anyone for that matter. Eris worked her whole life to be Empress. She didn't choose that spot. It was decided for her. Both of them never had the right to choose their own future. Both Helena and past Eris.
Eris is wrong because she chose to bully Helena who wasn't the source of her pain. Bullying is wrong, I agree. However, Eris simply wanted Helena to feel rejection and pain because she thought Helena had life easy. Which is sad because both of them are struggling. Eris chose to hurt a person who would have been the only person who would have had her back but her pain stopped her from seeing the picture clearly. We always blame something, she chose Helena.
The depressing part is, this really is how life is. Women hate each other because of their men (not all). When a man cheats on them, they choose to hate the woman more. When the man most probably never told the other girl that he was actually dating someone else. Men always compare women with other women. We need to understand that the person we need to fuck with is not the other women but that man who dared to call you worthless. The present Eris knows that the Prince can go fuck himself hence doesn't care. She knows that. She just needs to understand Helena now. The thing is even if she never knows, It's fine.
