Oh god I can't take it anymore so I wanna share it with u guys. The thing is there's bad news for takatora x kameyama shipper (yes that's me, I ship them). They just broke up in ch 13..., Takatora was devastated, now he wanna make a child with Oosuzume (that big omega guy) and proposed to him so suddenly. I don't know what to say anymore hueee my ship... I hope Asada-sensei will bring them back together again... Even if it's only a faint hope... I'm crying so damn hard here ╥﹏╥

Spoiler
Lmao that ending was so sudden. Awesome way to wrap volume 2 lol. And Asada San already told us it'll be a harem. I'm not really sure if they meant that takatora end up with everyone or if he will go through everyone and no one will be endgame
Id actually rather the latter because kameyama is too good for him and deserves much better.

Dude has really been running around making the most rash decisions, in a trauma induced panic mode since the time skip started. Like I under why he is doing all of this, and he really needs help, and has needed it for a while. I'd say he needs someone to talk to (which would have been his uncle, till he shut him down with the "be a man and suck it up" kind of thing), but at this point cause he isn't going to initiate in talking about anything, he needs someone who doesn't mind prying a lot. Kameyama is not that person, because he liked the casualness and liteness of their relationship, and didnt like it when Takatora started to get more serious or bring up heavy topics. It would take more than a passing, "how are you doing" to get him to talk and even open up little incites of his feelings.
Takatora has been in a fight or flight mode since that dude in the office, so he's trying to cope by creating a semblance of stability and family around him, which is something he sort of lost after he found out he was an omega, and the school bully's tried to gang up and SA him.
He opened up a bit to Arisaka, and had told him he was sheltered and not allowed to leave the house until high school, but after he got out of the house, and found out he was an omega, he lost his boyfriend, and his parents, so he literally had no one there for him. He thought he had his uncle and arisaka later, but nope, not them either cause Arisaka left him without a word, and his uncle did the "man up" thing.
So now he's trying to cope and build a stable family, but he's literally speed running it, cause like dude... you just got dumped, and now you ask the dude who you just asked the other day to be a serogate for your boyfriend and you, to marry you...
*facepalm* Someone, please get him some help, or just him him themselves, cause he needs it.

Factssss you are so right. the first time I saw that proposal panel in preview, I correctly guessed that takatora may be proposing to oosuzume but here he's outright asking oosuzume to be his wife, when all he's done is criticise ōsuzume's desire to appear more omega-like, being envious about his alpha visuals that is effortless and always thinking ōsuzume's ungrateful with his choices. He outright tried to say ōsuzume's nuts for getting plastic surgery to conform to omega standards. And not to mention that he asked oosuzume to be their surrogate. A proposal is atrocious wtf.
I think maybe in this volume that all of takatora's running, literally since his hysterectomy, will come to a head. Asada sensei loves putting her characters through the grinder so we may be yet to see anguish coming takatora's way. I could go out on a limb and say even the hysterectomy will come to bite him back. If not in like a I want kids I regret it, but at least it'll cause health complications.
Honestly takatora's such a tragic character. Even we dismiss it with the way he handles what Asada throws at him, but when you think about it, he's had one crisis after another. He almost got gang raped (and actually sa'd) on top of his first heat and identity crisis, went through a self erasure just to re-establish his psyche, got abandoned by his family, got emotionally involved with his r*pist, got abandoned again, navigated his start up in middle of alphas like saeki, was viewed by his own employees as a sexual object, got assaulted by machida, clashed with kameyama over morals and ideals, gently heckled by tsuruta to marry an alpha, and then broke up with kameyama as well. It's quite the rollercoaster. I was really sad when takatora even tells kameyama that he doesn't need children or any of that, just to not break up. Like dude literally says so little, letting kameyama speak his mind. His defeat was palpable and it was the first time even I felt sorry for him.

I don't think he's gonna have complications from the surgery or anything, that would be like super super rare especially that much later after getting one. If I understood correctly, he did mention briefly that he kind of regrets he can't have kids himself because then he wouldnt need to go the surrogate route, but he also doesn't went to physically go through the process of being pregnant, which I don't think is going to change given the tone and ideology of the series thus far, even with the conflicting sides of Takatora and Kageyama on their views around surrogacy.
Kind of off topic, if I was understanding what I was reading correctly, their argument around surrogacy was going everywhere, and takatira surprisingly had the more progressive stance, cause kageyama was calling surrogates prostitutes, and calling them shameful, and takatora got mad because it's literally not the same thing as prostitution, and argued that Kageyama doesn't know the circumstances of the surrogate mothers as to why they would be doing it, and he called him out on calling prostitutes shameful saying that he was essentially calling his own friend arisaka shameful because he used to be a prostitute himself to make money to survive and finish school. I just found it interesting that it was Takatora that was on the more progressive side of the argument this time, and Kageyama was on the more conservative side.
I just read the latest chapter too, and I think the proposal to Osuzume is not only out of desperation for family and stability, but also so he isn't pushed into marrying an alpha who he will be stuck with forever, cause like his uncle literally coerced him into agreeing to a marriage meeting while he was grieving and drunk.
Also, the uncle set up his queer alpha presenting omega nephew, to a marriage meeting with a conservative religious old man in politics, and told him to dress in a way that made him appear more omega like to appeal to the old guy. He also went on to tell him that whatever alpha he sets him up with, they will expect him to give them lots of children one way or another, and to raise them like he's a housewife. That is literally the worst kind of match for takatora.
Like while he is more traditional in what he wants for his future compared to Kageyama or that missanderist guy with the glasses, he also isn't traditional either.
It's like trying to make a butch lesbian who's a business woman or trans business man (they literally use both lesbian and trans alegories in this manga), become feme and marry a male conservative southern Christian republican politician, and become a housewife raising their 5 kids.
Like, I know when this manga started, a lot of people were like "yeah, now you see how omega feel", which is messed up, cause that kind of stuff shouldn't happen to anyone, its not a gotcha moment. It wasn't even a getting a taste of his own medicine moment either (itd still be messed up even if it was though), cause even with his sexist views back then, he literally called that shit out as being wrong. Like dude was a dumb kid and said dumb uninformed things, but he grew up, learnt and changed. However he's had trauma from back then hanging over his head ever since, and it's just getting worse.
I feel like the Osuzume arc is going to be chaos, like imagine if he has the kid, and then leaves takatora, and takes the kid with him. But even if soap opera level drama like that doesn't happen, I feel like this whole arc's theme is going to be gender dysphoria, cause both Osuzume and takatora have that.

Wow, yeah I totally agree with u guys on that. I mean, I’ve always kinda seen this coming, it’s been clear from the start what kind of story Asada-sensei wanted to tell, and how things were gonna unfold. So honestly, I’m not surprised it turned out this way, just got sad because what I'd been expecting actually happened hehe. Imo Takatora becoming more and more pitiable is exactly the point.
Still, I really got attached to the sweet side of Takatora and Kameyama relationship. I was so into it, especially ‘cause I like Kameyama and he was just so cute since the early chapters. But as the story moved forward, it made sense that they’d eventually reach a breaking point. Like, there’s definitely a disconnect between them. I think they never really got each other on a really deeper level, and they weren’t that much open with each other (unlike how Takatora was with Arisaka). So yeah, I get that it wasn’t the healthiest relationship, even though I absolutely ate up all their sweet moments lmao.
As for Oosuzume, who knows how that’ll go? We don’t even know if he’s gonna accept Takatora’s proposal just like that. Bet there’ll be issues in their relationship too. And that’s one of the reasons I love this manga so much, the twists and how everything just hits. What happened to Takatora, and how he and everyone else reacts to it is really wild. The way he completely refuses to be the kind of omega society expects him to be is both super bold and heartbreaking. He’s got guts, but man, not the luck.

You guys are so awesome. I wish I had that same level of vocabulary and ability to articulate the topics properly.
This manga is my absolute favorite. A true gem. It has opened so many important topics for discussion from feminism, patriarchy, gender roles, body rights, safety issues in workshops, surrogacy, and so on and so forth.
I just know that Kameyama and Takatora are gonna break up at some point. Yeah, they supported and cared for each other, but their core ideology is just so different.
Takatora has a tendency to move from and into a relationship very quickly. As we have seen it multiple times. From his high-school boyfriend to Arisaka to Kameyama and now the muscular omega. I think he needs to be in a relationship to feel secure and ensure about himself.
Personally, I don't think the omega dude gonna accept to be a surrogate mother, but who knows. In the end, it's Asada san's work. I followed them in social media, and one thing I know about them for sure is that they like to see their characters to suffer. And I don't think Takatora gonna get any grace lol.

Ah I reread again.
I think kameyama first of all didn't want kids at all. He also sees surrogacy as exploitative, and hates takatora's payment for it even more as it's coercing the vulnerable with money and that surrogacy just perpetuates the injustice. Takatora's telling him not to be naive, that not allowed omegas are like kameyama, that many choose sex work and surrogacy. Preferring that over low wages and getting trapped in welfare that kameyama suggests. He asks kameyama what his solution for that is, when takatora's ready to pay handsomely to their surrogate to set them up for life. Kameyama tells him that his way wouldn't solve shit or make anything better for omegas as a whole.

Also I don't think the alpha tsuruta sets takatora up with is old nor specifically asks for children and takatora to be a housewife, not explicitly at least. He is* the heir to a religious/political family with a huge voting block and also youngish. The political party seems slightly shady but that's all about him. But tsuruta does push takatora to surrogacy even though takatora doesn't want it without kameyama, saying he must continue the dynasty. He pushes the marriage as an alliance between bloodlines, and guilt trips takatora to continue his line with an alpha from an influencial family. And yeah does tell him to dress up delicate, appear refined for the meeting with the alpha.
Takatora is very quiet and submissive with tsuruta he hardly disagrees, much like chapter nine. So not sure what the repercussions will be for dumping the alpha date tsuruta arranged.
Naauurr I need to see them switch, is it just end there like that??
