yep. cause that is how usually a person reacts, if they are not someone with dependent personality disorder or something....usually, if you are super anxious and not sure and the partner is so weird and you are hurt and all, your ego and common sense will try to make you distance yourself....cause it hurts our egos pride to be treated that way and not whorshipped ( is called ego for a reason) and your common sense sees no reason in staying in a place that unstable, as all that stress will make your brain thinkg "it is not safe here"....cause stress always means for the brain "there is some sus shit, i need to be alert, i might need to bolt or fight" and when i say always, i mean it. the brain only thinks of "survival" nothin else matters and anything your brain does is meant for your survival....

a brain on itself that is...the rationality...anway...i mean, i know people and i myself have experience and read many masterpieces that had this plot...just finished one for example called "hollow love"...was awesome as fuck....and the uke was like someone who build up all he had thanks to seme, but when seme was being sus with how he felt and all...the uke was about to bolt and then they COMMUNICATED....even though he loved him like super lots and it was his first love and especially with a MAN as someone who was always straight....and i also had this...was so in love with a guy who also looked like a model himself with a bomb body, but he was so sus about what he wanted from me so i was like " i am done with this shit" and left and he came to me later...we stayed friends, but my feelings were already dying at that point...and yes dying...feelings can go as well as they come....it is not an organ....feelings are enzymes that doc onto your receptors in your body and make it react...nothing else....they are released in your brain...so you just get used and even addicted to feelings, but you can end addiction and habits...takes time...you get withdrawal sympotms called love sickness maybe even...but you can get over it....anyway....so yeah.....I CRAVE for more stories that make sense with characters that make sense....hhhh..i already felt weird af. when the guy asked about how the sex was with the childhood friend he acted as if he was together with to get him off the hook and the uke was just answeing normally...like bruh....you should lecture him about how he dares to put your friend into a spot where she needs to bring out a man so he won't harass her into dating him wtf....and then some more for how he fucking dare to ask such private intimate thinks that are none of his fucking business....gosh....

It would be nice however it goes against the rules of the genre, that's why it pretty much never happens.

i dunno why people think there are rules to genres...like how do you get that idea? just cause the first authors as well as later ones still do these tropes in yaoi, does it mean yaoi means rapey seme and helpless uke ??? no it does not...most people who think that way, are those who think traditions are natural laws or what, even though they are just passed on habits of humans and nothing else....a genre is just a huge ass drawer where you put in stuff that has particular similarities....yaoi is a drawer that stands for erotica between males....erotica also does not always mean that it is porn, it just implies it is a story with erotic content....so no, it is not a "rule" or "definition" or whatever of yaoi.....authors just chose to go that way, that is all....we see some however, who realise that they don't always need to use the same old ass tropes just cause they sell well, but can make real authentic stories not just for the money, but to seriously tell a story....that is always the difference between unforgettable amazing stories and those who are just like lil snacks but don't leave big impacts on you....and these so calles "rules" that people love to imagine, are originally just straight-love tropes, that were made a bit extreme and more erotic and the women had now a male body, but nothing else was particularly different from how a women in straight love acts and an uke in bl.....modern authors expanded the limits and looked further than just weird ass old tropes that are disgusting and boring and are literally stupid, cause they make no sense at all...you should read history of yaoi, too....why most original female yaoi authors wrote the stories the way they did and about the background of japan etc. and the situation of women and all that...writing bl the way they did with the uke suffering like a bitch and still loving the seme was just them venting their own issues...by distancing themselves a bit and making the female role a man....anyway....you can enjoy what you want...no worries there...stories are free....but there are no rules to any genre....

"yaoi means rapey seme and helpless uke" I never said that. And you don't need to lecture me about the history of yaoi, I've been reading it for more than a decade. Boys Love/Yaoi is a genre that has rules or rather "tropes". It's an art but mostly it's a business and to bring in money to the editors, authors must play by the rules. Authors then have the liberty to bend the tropes (most do them don't though) and that's when we get real masterpieces. But even with masterpieces you can still spot the tropes in the story or characterization, they're just downplayed a lot and the story and characters seem more realistic this way. BL's main rule is that the two males leads must get together or at least reciprocate each other's feelings by the end of the story. It can be subtle but it needs to happen. Which brings me back me to my main point: the uke dumping the seme just because he's had enough of his shit would be realistic but it goes against the rules of Boys Love. That's why it's not impossible but it's very rare.

BLs must not be confounded with gay erotica. Gay erotica has no rules set in stone (other than showing the expression of desire between males) because it never really became a business the same way that yaoi has. That's also why a lot of gay/bisexual men hate yaoi. It's just not realistic, it follows a strict pattern that's not representative of gay relationships or gay sexuality. I think that the main issue are the tropes and the fact that like you say, the genre was born from women wanting to vent their frustration by substituting themselves with men x men. It led to the fetishisation of gay sex and now BL's is this weird genre that's not representative of real life.

thanks for this, i assumed you meant it like others usually mean it....hehe...buuut fiiirst: why is it "lecturing"? (even though i mean, what is wrong in lectures?it just means you are someone who wants to share what you know as it might meet ears that never heard that information before or meet people who know about it and then you can exchange in a more deeper convo and learn)...usually, when people write how bad they find the insane rape shit and the absolutely inhuman reaction of the victim, acting like the seme did not rape him and torture him, but just slapped him lightly on his cheek or what....people say it is supposed to be this way....not understanding that it is just this way, because they- like you so amazingly explained- is just business....which means as long as there is demand it will stay like this....but if the demand changes, so will the market.....so peole want this shit, that is why it keeps appearing in different forms that are still all the same....i not for the few masterpieces who bend the boarders a bit.....thanks by the way for seriously engaging in this with me and this gave me a better perspective on what i already gathered from looking all this up because it made me so furious to find it everywhere, even modern webtoons, since i started reading two years ago....really upsetting....i am even more grateful for finding those amazing gems in all this mud that were created by authors who really cared more for their story than just blandly rewriting the same old shit....i wonder if this will ever improve....i mean you say you read since a decade, do you feel it somewhat improved from what it was like back then? you must have a better grasp on that....
