It’s wild people don’t see it. I wouldn’t say he’s a straight up red flag but he is definitely a pink flag: someone who has the potential of being a red flag if the behavior is not corrected. I need people to re-read the story and pay attention to what Michael is thinking and doing. If Lucienne wasn’t already head over heels for him, this would be a very, very different manga.

1. Michael comforts himself that Lucienne can’t easily escape the castle. He literally has a ring on her that tracks her location and helps him teleport where she is. When he mistakenly thought Sarasa was helping Lucienne escape, the guy was right behind her ready to take her back if necessary. Like the reason he slang down that pipe hard on Lucienne is to hope that she would at least get dickimitized so she will never want to leave.

2. When Lucienne believed her father was behind of whisking her to the nunnery so she won’t be executed or thrown in jail for life for being framed of poisoning the Saint, Michael was pouting and asking her to think of him more, hinting that there is a possibly he was somewhat behind her escape to the nunnery.

3. The mysterious deaths of Michael’s father and older brother wasn’t just a coincidence in my opinion. We learned that the father and older brother were not good people and the people of the duchy are far happier with Michael as the duke. But what are the chances that both of them died? Remember a huge barrier between Michael and Lucienne were their social ranks, on top she was engaged to the Crown Prince. Lucienne was the daughter of a foreign high ranking noble. Michael, despite being second son of a Duke, only had noble lineage and nothing else to his name so he was just a mere knight that was too low ranking for someone like Lucienne to marry. Then conveniently, the reigning Duke and his heir suddenly turned up dead.

But I don’t think Michael is a malicious character. Just someone who yandere tendencies who is going to fight like hell for Lucienne after winning her favor.

That is 100% why I consider him a red flag + the fact that he basicaly kidnapped her (We still don't know if her father is behind it too or not). Furthermore the way the first night he directly pounding her without even knowing if she love him or if she is fine before the act to engage in a bed relationship (if my memory is not failing me)

It's not because I've seen worse in others mangas that I can't unsee how problematic some of his actions and words are.

I absolutely do love how nicely he treat our MC but you cannot tell me he is the greenest flag you've seen.

Don't know what your definition of red flag is but mine is any man who shows signs of being problematic in a relationship, may he be sweet or not.
By that definition, I do feel like my statement is not exagerated even if I like him and his love for the MC.

I agree with the comment above he a Lil bit of a pink flag, but he's not a red flag to me, if stories with this genre/ploy the ml is a r@pist of the start and he would have been an asshole if he didn't listen to her and locked her up when she said she wanted to go far away. But that's just me, he could be 100 times worse so to me he's a green flag now, was a pink flag before they resolved their misunderstanding.

I agree that he's a broken person, but cmon like I don't see why those small acts of kindness made him fall in love or interpret Jaekyungs kind actions as Dan's one sided delusional love being reciprocated.
