This is set in a time where aborting would kill you - legally it was punishable by stoning. She kept the child because she didn't want to perish, she never wanted it, you demonising her over that is like demonising women who abandon her child when she is neither emotionally or physically able to take care of it, sure she's not great, but ML gaslit and raped her, so she's not that bad, especially compared to other FLs in other stories.

Even in the real world *outside of the story* women have been taking abortive medicine and herbs for centuries to prevent carrying to term/having children. By the fact that it's the son of the imperial family, and was known by the father that she was pregnant, she would have been killed, go check up on your inference skills, since you clearly lack them, also, I was only making educated theories on why she decided not to terminate the pregnancy
Ppl act like the ML didn't beg the FL to love him, and when she finally acquiesced all the ML did was like and scheme to kill the only family he had because he couldn't understand family and friendship bonds. Dietrick was his teacher and guided him through his adolescence, even fought along side him on the battle field, and the ML still schemed his death and then continuously lied about it. The FL always had just one goal, revenge. The ML offered it to her on a silver platter in exchange for her love, and she made him promise no more lies. The only thing the ML has ever done is lied. The fact the FL has backbone and didn't fold like y'all doesn't make her the derogatory sht y'all are calling her. She's allowed to not want to spend her life with a man she detests despite how batshît insane, controlling and clingy he is.
I cried reading your comment cause the comment section made me lose my mind.. I started questioning the physical and mental ages of the readers. It was like they could not see anything beyond themselves. I kept wondering if we were reading the same manga.
All FL wanted was Revenge, ML had been obsessed with her before her reincarnation. MF even f*pped to her baby portrait but NO the FL is evil for not loving him even though she pleaded with him not to ever lie to her again BUT he looked her in the eye and STILL LIED. MF killed Dietrich, his teacher that only ever showed him care and trained him to be a man because he knew that with Dietrich in the picture, he had no hope to get with FL but apparently Fl is EVIL AND SELFISH AND A B*TCH...OMG!!.
I am just happy someone understands the psychological dynamics in this story.. it was heartbreaking seeing them hate her because she did not want to love a sociopath, ML or not

I mean, no, but also I'm not sure how you go from considering the child's pain to blaming her for it. It's basically a rape child. She gave birth to him and did raise him at first, but couldnt anymore later on as he started to look like him and passed him off to Dietrich. She had the decency not to abuse him or lash out verbally at him. He just doesn't understand why he can't see his mother. Which sucks for him, but also she didn't grow connected to him because of what happened with the father
