Pei Zheng gets cancer but he gets cure from it. He doesn't get much punishment beside that, and that he will have get to have the female lead as his lover again. Like, that was suppose to be his ultimate despair but, didnt really like it that much. That's just pretty much it. He gets to find out that Xiao Ling was never in the wrong in her first life, and he wronged her.

Pei Ziheng also gets the ultimate heartbreak when Xiao Ling says, “If Li Lei does, I’ll die with him!” That basically told him that she no longer wants to live her present-day life without Li Lei, so Ziheng will never have another chance no matter what he does! (▰˘◡˘▰) So, now he has to live the rest of his lonely life knowing he falsely accused and wronged Xiao Ling in her past life and that she died miserably b/c he had raped, tortured, starved, and beat her and had just released her from the cage/prison before her final past life concert where Xia Yu had her killed! Ziheng cried... howled like a wounded beast... after finding out the truth! (ノ≧∇≦)ノ That scum doesn’t deserve the least bit of sympathy!

Ahh so frustrating. I wish they had revealed to the world how this scumbag tortured their now dead superstar. The fans would have killed him themselves.
