You can try an old manga named Zankoku na kami ga shihai suru (As a Cruel God Reigns) by Hagio Moto. The boys' love element is not prominent (at least not till the end of the story); it's more psychological and more about the trauma that victims of rape and abuse suffer from. It's more serious and heavier than this one, and there is a bittersweet/open ending. A very well-written manga with old school style, though not to everyone's taste.
