Quite dragging if I have to say. Maybe its just the way the author and maybe there is something the author wants the reader to feel. I can see how much the mom love Haesoo. She just wants the best. But she is too clingy with the past. If I'm in Haesoo position, I would be asking the same, "am I a hindrance?". It is also something that can be seen in real life all the time. The parents wants the best, but they don't realize that they are forbidding the happiness of the children. Very sad if I have to say. I am sad for Joowon's father and Haesoo's mother.
