a lot of people are getting angry at jake, but you have to realize that the situation he’s in a really traumatic. he got attached to a child he thought had a possibility of being his. he finds out sean did in fact have his child, but was the reason for said child’s death. he’s starting to blame himself for everything. and he found this all out in like..a few days?
I think we all know his faults, it's not that he didn't do anything wrong, it's kinda more on we know where he's coming from. Like yeah a lot of what he did was pretty messed up but throughout the stories we have been getting bits and bits of different realities. Not everyone's reality can be as beautiful as the first couple. With Terry we learned how a certain someone can change another's hearts and such. We saw the good and bad of Tony's life and choices, we saw even though there was love even Terry's dad had to be without his lover, and there was like a lot of childhood abandonment going on pretty much all the way through. One of those who were abandoned was Jake. You saw how jaded Tony got after his other dad had to leave, think about the life of a rich kid who most likely had a life where he didn't get as much love and care. Terry and Tony were fortunate enough to have such a hardworking dad, but Jake has also eluded to his lonely upbringing. There's nothing like making excuses, it's honestly just knowing everyone has something like this, even if its not as dramatic. It's empathy. -Your neighborhood pal
Yeah, I get what you mean. Instead of forgiving it would be nice for everyone to understand the facts of their life in the story and move forward positively. Its heartbreaking to see so much pain from all the misunderstanding situations. It seems he's trying to become better so there's at least that. It's worrisome tho, it seems he's the type that reacts too passionately. Like every feeling he has looks magnified for some reason. Extremes. Like if he's mad he's mad, if sad its like he's fallen into despair. It could all boil down to just not having anyone in his growing up years to show him how to feel in the middle. But that's also in the past. There's only to work harder in the present.
These are all excuses at the end of the day. You can understand a person’s background and yo can see how they possibly came to be how they are. But at the end of the day Jake chose, does actions himself. He chose how he’s treated Sean in such a deplorable way up till now. And simply because he’s had a sad childhood somehow it’s reasoned that he should be pitted for his actions. He’s not the victim. He’s the victim of his own narrative. But the narrative between Sean and himself. What’s so annoying is this is the sort of thing that happens frequently in real life abuse. Reshaping the narrative. Jake’s trauma is his OWN trauma. He’s caused trauma to others just as well. That’s how you are suppose to look at it. You can do all the mental gymnastics necessary to explain the cause and continuation of trauma, however when actively dealing with trauma each individual’s experience is important and individualized. By simply saying Sean’s trauma experienced by Jake is excusable or in this case sympathetic enough to warrant jake being absolved of his harm takes away Sean agency and revictimizes Sean all over again. As Sean feels responsible for Jake’s emotionally stability over his own. This is actually why a lot of Domestic abuse victims stay with their abuser among a number of reasons too. Realistically this plot is a nightmare in psychology how badly done the author is attempting at reframing the narrative in an actual ”healthy” way.
Well, it was never said (at least to my knowledge) that Jake was a victim, nor any of the other things. Just that its not hard to understand the reasoning behind the actions. Also not saying they were warranted nor good...its okay if not everyone has the same perspective and I respect that. But only attacking the character without looking into their shoes doesn't help anything. Even if the actions aren't agreeable, noting that he should improve himself is enough. Anyway, the life's complicated after all. Let's all just read for reads sake~ peace n care to all ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~hehe~
True but I personally dont think they would be a good match.
Everyone deserves a second chance but I dont know if you remember.
There was a chapter where Sean gets a flash back and he was getting raped by Jack.
Going off by this, it just proves that he still fucked up. I wouldnt mind them trying to fix their friendship but to be more then friends does rub me off the wrong way
so jowoon just doesn’t want haesoo to abandon him. not once has he told haesoo in their argument whether he has feelings for him or not.
since jowoon seems to have “feelings” for haesoo, you’d think it’d be easier for him just to confess, but he hasn’t, not once told haesoo he wants to be in a realationship with him. all he was worried about was if haesoo truly liked taku enough to abandon him. even haesoo noticed that jowoon wasn’t necessarily jealous.

jaehwan starting to fall for dongho’s little quirks and being alarmed about what he’s feeling...get ready for a ride full of misunderstandings
