I'm actually surprise that this have a really high rating. For me, its a cliché story with obvious ending. Although their relationship progress is really good, I hope they choose the unussual route were they still bestfriends despite being hetero girl and boy. Like proving to the world that you can STILL be best of friend with the opposite sex without romantic feelings.

People like cliche things once in a while, you know. We know how it will end but how will they get to that end?
Its the spice of youth that you either experienced before or have wanted to experience. People want to relate to that, to live a life they could have had or reminisce a life they once had.
Either way, the manhwa was made to reach people's heart in that quaint yet complicated part of our lives.
So. There.

I swear, Hinata have the best character development!! The way he improve his skills and realized that although volleyball was a team sport, he needs to improve in all aspect of it to be better is really touching and amazing. He should not be stuck on a box, and he grew exponentially in beach volley. I love that Kageyama and Hinata are rivals now. They are able to surprise each other on their improvements. Can't wait to see who will win this competition. Considering that Hinata's team have an ace and he didn't start up on the line up makes me think that they have 60% more chance of winning.

I don't actually dislike the female lead. She have a resemblance on Haruhi (OHC) considering she's very intelligent but not athletic. proves that God is fair. The only problem is that all of her classmates are bitchy and annoying except the 1st dude. Female lead like her which is very dense, hard working and kind is really precious and need to be protected. Which is super rare to find in real life.

I always go back to this manga every time I'm down!! This is the manga, I learned and loved the most. I wish that there is a sequel of this on their college lives. To all those people saying mean things to Hosaka and pointing that he will never put Takara 1st place on his heart, you obviously didn't get the ending. Remember HE CHOOSES to move in a dorm with Takara despite knowing that Kou and Ayako have something going on and Kou will be staying at their house for a while. Even Takara suggested they move so his father will have no problem with his love life. lol yet Hosaka still compromise. Also, both of them show romantic feelings for e/o. Remeber when Hosaka said "Sometimes an innocent partner scares me." Meaning, he obviously don't want to taint Takara knowing his sex life before and he wanted to respect him. Also, I can never imagine Hosaka letting anyone love or date Takara in the near future. As of Takara, He obviously feel uncomfortable when he sees Kiyomine with a girl. He always wanted to be no. 1 in Hosaka's heart and I don't think he can live without Hosaka at this point. Truthfully, Im so glad that abe gave as an open ending where we can conclude the story according to our understanding.

happy sigh... I'm glad people still enjoy this series as much as I do. My first time reading this was as a 13 year old boy, I only read it for the shounen ai tag and was frustrated, skipped a lot of chapters looking for only kiss scenes because I thought that was the only thing that could be solid proof of a love between people. I remember the ending as being slightly melancholic because 1. of the open ending and 2. because it was ending. A few years later, I decided to pick it up again because I was feeling sad and just wanted a feel good manga. I decided to reread a bunch of ones I read before and BOY I really didn't appreciate the nuances enough. Being older and more mature made me realize all the beautiful things woven into each page without necessarily being said out loud. Even now I dream of having a relationship as natural as breathing; it's my ideal. I still think this is abe miyuki's best work hands down no arguing. I still keep it really close to my heart to this day and always reread it when I feel something missing.
Its refreshing to read hetero webtoon like this because there's no UNECCESARY DRAMA and all the cast are likeable. All their personalities compliments each other perfectly. Especially the MC's. Altho its a shame that Billy and Mr Yu are not shown in the end, IT WAS OBVIOUS SINCE THE VERY BEGINNING.
The best thing about this webtoon is that it shows how difficult for females to receive GENDER EQUALITY in a corporate world dominated by male co-workers. It tells us through Jay that eventhough you are competent and all you can still feel lonely. Her Father is a scumbag. He's the only character I hate the most, he's the TOTAL OPPOSITE of her daughter.
