I cant read this cause of what the dude did in the first story. A shame cuz ppl are saying its cute.

Don't let that discourage you! I wasn't sure to read it either, but let me tell you that he has one of the best character development ever. He recognizes that what he did was very wrong and actually acknowledges that it came from a place of internalized homophobia. It's actually pretty great the level of introspection that he achieves tbh. If you're still not comfortable thats totally fine tho!

I'm not discouraged. I'm not reading it cause the one character. I saw the other comments. He attempted to rape someone . . . and then apologized for it. That's not much repenting for me. I don't want to read a story about someone who tried to rape someone unless they've actually paid for what they did.

i totally agree with u, i don't understand how this is cute. He's a fucking rapist, he's only way of redemption is jail, not "FeEliNg SoRRy". In the first and in this story (i didn't read this but the comments are enough) rape is treated like a fucking joke and im tired of shit like this. Im gay myself and no, i would never be with a man who raped me just because i had a crush on him like in the previous story. Also no one would forgave a rapist and be with him like in this shit story.

Yeah i get where you guys come from. I think the author wasted a LOT of potencial making a stupid rape-oriented plot. However surprisingly the first story is a lot more problematic than this one. I mean looking back the uke did get with his rapist... But then again it's not a competition
A couple of point for closure i guess? (If you're curious)
- in this story they explained that emoto did get legal repercussions for what he did (i interpreted that it was in the form of a settlement, however). Though, to get jail time the victim must take action themselves so i guess the author was just not bothered enough to do that
- yes, feeling sorry doesn't cut it, and the way the author goes around it is to make other rando character do the same attempted rape at emoto.
- i do feel like this whole story is like a redemption arc for the author themself. A lot of stuff is explained regarding sexuality. I think maybe they got a lot of backlash from the other story? idk
Anyways, as far as yaoi attemped rape goes, this one has sort of a more credible redemption arc.
OBVIOUSLY you are not obligated to read it if you don't like this stuff (as i said before) there are a lot of good hit out there. I myself stay away from the rape/non-con stuff if the tags or comments say so, but i read this one bc i already read the first one, and have more tolerence for it

I agree the first story was for sure worse. I thought it was done when they went separate ways and that the uke would be able to heal- BUT I WAS WRONG. I was done when the use got raped and almost raped again, then kinda disowned. (Mans could not catch a break) I only read the rest to see what would happen. I was disappointed to say the least but happy the dad started trying for his son (that was the highlight). It's a shame cuz this one had promise if not for the rape and light attitude towards it.
Stories where the victim ends up with their rapists that are painted to be romantic make me dislike the author. It's like they think that those two characters are the only options for each other, WHEN THEY CAN LITTERALLY MAKE NEW CHARACTERS.
I dont doubt the author wasn't bothered by it since you've said the way they start in this is through attempted rape too (damn).
I'm not trying to drag on the story and more so the character, emoto. I honestly want nothing to do with the first story, especially the bad characters. Tbh I think it would be better as a fresh story with no connection to the previous and no rape/attempted rape unless dealt with in the correct way.

Yes, i really think this would have been so so so much better if it was a separate story altogether. Like the initial plot lasts for like 2 seconds, Emoto tells Chouko in like 1 panel that he wants to apologize to Kurama (the uke in the first story) and the rest of the story just revolves around them without mentioning it much
Personally, I still don't like Arthur. At all.
