Because his uncle flirts out of obligation, not out of emotions. Its the same with the cloths and jewlery he gifter, that was all out of obligation. But in this society gifting a woman jewlery and dresses = corting her.. but he has no romantic feelings for her and she is already falling for him.. So Luca is trying to protect his aunt form heartbreak like he felt in his past life..
