I read this in 2020 and noticed it was completed so i binged it over the weekend. No matter how much i wanted to give it a 5/5 (as i do with 99% of stories i read), it was a 4/5 for me. I actually made a list of reasons about my 4/5 because I felt so strongly about it lol.
1. Taesung was, imo, unreedem-ably toxic. I mean, almost everyone in the story was (lol) but he did so much to sooyoung… Then, conveniently, sooyoungs memory loss happened so taesung basically got a second chance (which he didnt intend to happen but worked out anyway for the sake of author wanting them to be endgame ig).
2. Sooyoung genuinely went through wayyy too much. I get that his character was made to have an unwavering human spirit but… wow. he was assaulted over and over again by everyone and drugged multiple times and i feel like he never had a genuine friend, because literally anyone he had more than 5 interactions with wanted to fuck him
3. This is prob the hottest take i have for this story, but… i dont think taesung deserved sooyoung. I actually liked min-hyuk a lot and i think min-hyuk drugging sooyoung during the shinjung construction arc was just the author finding a way to get the audience to dislike min-hyuk. And yall can disagree with me all you want but if anything, an even better man would be hansung LOL he seemed so pure and genuine.
At the end of the day the author did her best with giving Taesung reedemable qualities and a heart wrenching backstory so i’ll give her that. I liked the preg side story, that was funny and lighthearted and i admit i actually do like the sex scenes other than those unnecessary rape-y scenes… but… i digress ╮(￣▽￣)╭
I agree with everything. I also preferred Min-hyuk even with the drugging he’s still way better than the ml
