Honestly the ending, for me, was PERFECT. This story isn't romantic, it focused on the trauma of the MC and him overcoming this. I'm actually glad that he didn't end up with anyone(even though I like the friend)

This is something that don't usually happens in yaoi. I thought that the protagonist was going to end up with the ML after going through the obstacles and live happy ever after and bla bla bla, but the main character actually acknowledge the toxicity and doesn't even love him, just like that someboby loves him.
Their dynamic is so interesting. The emperor is by far the best in terms of character. I hope the author gives more development to the demon.
