You grow up, meet more people, you widen your horizon, you get different perspectives. Age is just a number but age is also a factor. In this case, people are focusing on the age gap issue when its not even the issue. I guess it's the only issue they can defend Joel x Chase. Their age gap is the last thing they should be worried about. Even without the age gap, it does not make Joel a good father, a good police officer who doesn't use his badge for personal use, a decent human being who is not easily tempted by a highschooler.
