Come on bro it’s literally explained throughout the whole chapter.
Ladies in high society aren’t allowed to speak to men their age especially only after engagement. They have to be a „virtuous“ lady.
Image if she had screamed, next to her being a woman with a man alone in her room, only her reputation would have sunken because she is a WOMAN and of low birth. The narrative automatically changes to her seducing everyone and being dirty because she was a slave in the past

But if she had screamed they could be think she got attacked but here the situation got worse because that guy testified that they are couple...isn't it in that situation that is reputation is going down

You don’t get it. It doesn’t matter if she screamed because they never would think she was attacked. They’d never try to protect her. This is a patriarchal world and she’s a woman who was a slave. It’s doesn’t matter what truly happened no one would ever believe her. That’s what she realized in th end of the chapter as well. Like I said it’s literally written down there

I understand you that why I think if she was gonna be criticized in the first place isn't it better to protect yourself by at least bring that guy reputation down with her. If they didn't opened the door that guy would surely rape her...with this statement are sure it would be good to stay still because it a pratriarchal world? Personally I m not sure

That again is a whole other issue.
I don’t think she realized in the beginning that he was going to rape her as she tried to reasons with him. And him raping her only stemmed from FL telling him she doesn’t know what he’s talking about. That’s when he went really crazy and at that point he was already overpowering her.
I think she was to concentrated on trying to hold him off of her, is why she wasn’t able to rationally think about what to do and probably scream

With how you mentioned that it a pratriarchal world...she would already know that it would be impossible to make him behave logically so she could dream "help me he gonna do something to me"...that why I think...we won't agree but I see your point but think if the situation isn't on my side , I won't hold back for myself
