Back in the day it was common for families to marry their young daughters into other house holds. The mother is trying to get her daughter married quick and take over the family name because the mother and father aren’t in good states to continue to manage the house duties and work. The young girl asks shin “ is it true you are looking for a potential suitor to marry in the ball?”
Shin is left confused seeing as this girl is rlly young compared to him and even states she it too young for him as well.
There is then the conversation between the mother in the wheel chair and shin. Where she talks about how his position as minister of finances is almost as big or looked at as equivalent to being a duke or the power of the duke. To which shin try’s to downplay and deny to such words.
And finally there is the last part where the little girl tries to once again tell shin she is capable of being his wife and uses the “I am mature for my age.” Shin set aback by this little girls slyness (it’s funny and cute) but he tries to once again say she it too young and does not accept the marriage offer. The chapter ends with the mother proposing something else that we don’t know yet.
