In my opinion Hangyeol should have waited until he was a consenting adult before approaching Tae... It would have solved so many problems.
I think we need to take into consideration that Tae died.. He probably just really wanted to see him before it's too late again. Plus, the plot probably gonna repeat again if he hadn't known his brother's true personality through all this
But he could just watch him in the shadows or something since Tae is alive... But YES! I do agree with your last point that shits gonna repeat he doesn't get to know what a freakshow his brother really is
