Oh, no. I'm also feeling apprehensive about jiwoo fighting off Goliaths from T10 disciples. For me, he's still a child who only knows how to feed stray cats. but I can't ignore how he's grown as well, look how tall he's become compared to the early chapters. Plus, i also kinda missed the high-school homies, where art thou? Kudos to kayden for advising jiwoo to "Enjoy/have fun", unlike other mentors that pressure their disciples to win. But we all know daddy kartein would nag him to death because he's the one that gets burdened in healing jiwoo
When you don't expect much from the very beginning, you'd be surprised the story was quite interesting. I actually finished it without ranting or complaining.
I read a Chinese bl novel in the past (forgot the title). He was also a returner. On his second life, he was able to dodge accidents, deaths and mishaps orchestrated by his enemy because of his knowledge from the past. Or the right thing to say was he was a hundred steps ahead that his enemy couldn't even attempt to threaten him. So he also couldn't take revenge in the absence of crime. So what he did was he sought a magic tool where it could swap places with a person from a different dimension/timeline. He summoned the one who tormented him in the past and punished and killed him in his current dimension/timeline.
Following this logic, he felt it wrong to hate and kill the person that hasn't done the crime yet. This must be how aristia also felt. She identified the emperor of each timeline as two different entities and just wrote off his abuse in the past and started all over again in the current timeline . (Although, the damage has been done, the pain and trauma have been inflicted so she just have to delude herself it was just a bad dream, a nightmare)

Reading this feels like having more sauce than the salad itself. Solid plot but the ending was totally a big cliffhanger. So did she return to her parents after Elra granted her life? Does she no longer possess the power of death? Will she become empress even after being branded as witch? I wished there'd be side stories. Well, at least it was a happy ending, I guess.
Honestly I think the author left it that way to leave it to us the readers to interpret it in our own way for me personally since she waited before coming out to see Pell meaning she probably returned a bit earlier on that same day so she could’ve already reunited with her family and then rushed back to find him hence the ending
since elra said that rael consciousness is gonna disappear I can guess that essie no longer possess the power of death bc elra did say that a new rael will be formed to set the balance back into place so ig it’s kinda impossible for Essie if she’s already been cleansed by elra and then brought back to life by her
In the end she’s most likely will indeed become the empress I bet Pell will pull some strings to clean her name bc well he’s emperor so ofc he’s gonna have insane amount of connections to get rid of her “witch” reputation
but I really did hope they had spread the og story of the founding empire bc omg the first emperor was a dickhead and a asshole for betraying someone that gave them will to live again especially a god??? Like what?? Ofc theres gonna be consequences for messing a higher being that’s beyond human bound
