What I read was that the Duke just wanted to reverse time, he had no intention of reviving Jena, and her being alive again is just collateral.
So yeah, Jenan dies, the world start to crumble thanks to a demon and his pals.

Yeah, he's a piece of shit. His first wife, Clsette mother, was being bullied and harrassed by Keira family, the Duke knew that and didn't tried to stop them so he could maintain his neutrality. He eventually divorced her and married Keira mom's.

At the end, he knew Keira was his real daughter, and yet didn't try to save her from death so he could maintain family neutrality. He let's his own flesh and blood die, so nobody'll think the Duke is taking sides.
