Eventually, he got caught because of Tia. She set him up after knowing of his affair, if I remember he stole the ring of Mrs Lombardi (precious ring that the patriarch of Lombardi give to his wife) and give it to his mistress. One day, tia purposely go to a store and bump into the jerk's mistress. Eventually things got wary and messy, the girl deny her relationship to Shannet's husband but the ring is still the proof of their affair. Grandpa came and recognize the ring and that's how the divorce got process. He begged to Shannet but she's such a badass auntie (makes sense why she's the future head of the Lombardi) and refuse to get back with him. The twins stay by their mom side and Shannet's former husband and his mistress is eventually banish or banned in Lombardi territory. In other words no luxury, no support/backer, it's all nothing He messed with the wrong family and wrong wife.
