I honestly don’t care if the kids hate the royal family, it’s understandable, and they can get defensive if they want, but for starters, it makes NO sense how they do not trust the royal family but trust a shady-looking duke that they never saw once in their lives and that is giving them a « playmate » that they don’t know either. Like when you’re abused especially mentally you tend to not trust people easily so I genuinely can’t process how did they trust him, even more when he had that evil grin. Secondly they have no common sense. I can understand the abuse fucking up their brains, especially in terms of sociability since it’d be understandable for them to hide from others or something, but at least you don’t forget common sense that easily.
