I feel like itsuki forgave him and let him sort out himself while distancing himself was the best way to go. And helped they relationship have a fresh restart. and going into the relationship he hinted he liked someone n not to expect much. That beginning would have been a red flag itself but the relationship wasn't bad just didnt know exactly who he loved first. Itsuki wanted him to admit it and move on transparent w the relationship and airi chose him tho it didnt seem it was much a struggle of a decision bc airi alr moved on he just had to admit it.
