imo the ml really sucks. he acts all mature and omnipotent but how is it not clocking to him that there are very valid reasons that the mc doesn't trust him. wasn't he was literally breaking up and sleeping with other girls just days before suddenly pushing the mc to confess? and now he gets upset that the mc does what he's always done. like sorry that he’s not emotionally available after being treated like an afterthought for who knows how long. and now the ml gets hurt when the mc pulls away or shuts down emotionally, being distant and insecure as if it wasn't the mc's trauma defense in order to minimize being hurt by ml's actions. mc deserves better . i wish there was a slow-burn mutual healing arc before the confession, and at least some more context for the reasons he acted previously.
anyway sry for long rant, please lmk what y’all think i’d love to hear other takes. (also yeah ik they’re still minors, but i don’t think that excuses the behavior.)

I get your comment, but I don’t think it applies here. Remember, he’s a minor, he still depends on his mother and father. That’s a big decision to make, not something you do in a second. They should take their time and think it through before acting.

(?) my comment was more just something that came to mind while reading, how hard it is to watch someone suffer when you want to help but they can’t accept it yet. just expressing that feeling of helplessness when someone you care about is hurting but are not in a place to accept help yet. it’s a heartbreaking situation all around, both for the mc and for the ml. i get it as i was on both sides at different times of my life
