I get what you mean, I love their interactions with one another as well. I think the reason it feels so awkward is the lack of miscommunication. Usually miscommunication can lead to setbacks in the relationship and can cause the story to be 5 chapters then it needs to be. Also the fact we're on chapter 15 and the development between our couple is already good. Again I absolutely adore this webtoon

They didn't kill the mother. The act of giving birth to a child of mixed blood leads death to the aehri. That is why her mother died and when an aehri dies, all memories of that person is forgotten that is why Estrella's existence was forgotten as well.
