"But what would happen if a useless person reincarnated as the female lead of a harem story?"
Isn't that like... every other story? Like there's no middle ground here when it comes to shoujo mangas/manhwa/manhua. Either you have the beginning of the synopsis where the MC has special skills and/or smart (having skills and being smart isn't linked together all the time tbh). If the MC doesn't have a special skill, then by default, the MC would most likely be dumb and stupid but managed to survive by series of extremely fortunate events. I will say, once in a blue moon we have a smart MC who doesn't have a special skill but she usually gains one later in the story (which then goes down the drain). By default, the MCs are usually dumb/useless in some capacity for entertainment's sake.
In short- this synopsis isn't really... a flex... I much rather have an actual synopsis of what the story is really about. Not this hype the author is trying to put out to make her rather cliched story stand out from the rest.
(And I should quickly say there's a difference between the "smart" an author shoves down the audience's throat and a well-written MC who is smart. I know it's common for Chinese manhua with their revenge reincarnation but that camp is divided by this.)
You know, after thinking back again. The Synopsis both accurately tells what the story is about but also underwhelming. It's like, the author's arrogance on display as if they think they did something unique but also, there's a meta that I wish was expressed in the synopsis. Like it was thought by the MC since it fits the MC's arrogance too.
I’m laughing so hard. The author literally whitewashed their own character with a straight face without thinking that it’s kinda sus? The audacity.
And I’m not talking about this through a “western lens” of racism but the more eastern one where Asians there’s this toxic mindset of valuing light skin over dark; there’s a craziest amount of skin lightening products in Asia. Like skin bleaching is a thing there. The Asian beauty standard is just as insane as it is in America or some other European country. Just because Asian countries (especially Japan) isn’t vocal about their social issues, it doesn’t mean they don’t have it.
Of course, the author isn’t expected to use her manga as a commentary on this social issue but come on. There are ten billion different ways to have the same effect of showing she got the blessing of the light king that isn’t skin bleaching. That’s just glaring for both Western and Eastern audiences.
Chapter 12 was reprinted after major backlash from readers of her skin tone changing after getting the light spirit king's blessing. Though the original is till up here on mangago. Chapter 13 keeps her original skin tone because the backlash was so sever.

In a way isn't the author kinda using it as a commentary? I mean it wasn't until mc got blessed by the light spirit that she was "accepted", but mc isn't able to accept them b/c of all they had done, since at then end of the day she is who she is. I can't really express myself in words, I'm lacking, but you're right that the end product is questionable.
So we really going to ignore the pedophilia rumors but then shame the 13 year old princess who married the grown man. Okay. Makes complete sense
It's just rumors, though? The nobles may have started a running joke about it since he's unwed at his age, 'cause obvi there MUST be something wrong with a gorgeous unwed man.
It would be the same if a couple were married for 2-3 years w/o having at least 1 kid. Rumors of infertility and the like would pop up.
I imagine the pedophilia thing was someone's attempt to slander Mars.
I’m tired of these female leads doing so much for an inefficient plan. If she doesn’t want to end up on the destruction route with the male lead, then... just... prevent it. It’s really that simple. He already listens to her like a puppy so all she needs to put in is the elbow grease. And imo the whole “weh weh the heroine will come” sounds like a shoehorned idea by the author and female lead just to make a BS excuse to not use their brain. The story of a female lead trying to prevent the male lead’s downfall after finding out how cute he is sounds much better than this mess. The Evil Lady’s Hero does it better anyways.
Off topic, does anyone have a recommendation of these isekai stories where the female lead doesn’t give a shit about the heroine and happily steals the male lead on purpose? Cause I’m tired of these faux good girls, Virgin Mary wannabes “UwU you wouldn’t be happy with me you belong with the heroine”, braindead lookin ass female leads in the spotlight.
I agree! The closest ones I can think of are "When the Villainess Loves" but while she doesn't go for the original ML, she doesn't care about the original FL at all.
Another one that she doesnt care about the original is "I picked up the second male lead after the ending" but like the title says it's after the heroine came and took the ML.
Hoping other people have some recommendations because it's really hard to find a story where they don't spend the entire series obsessing about the original heroine.
I see a lot of hate for the prince, which I understand but he’s in a tight situation. You’re looking at his actions too black and white here.
He’s the current figure head of a kingdom and he’s engaging in a political marriage. He has to act wishy-washy like that for the sake of appearances and to maintain harmony in the political sphere. He isn’t stupid at all for doing so and he can’t act without substantiated evidence or else it might start a war. He clearly has a mind of his own and if the blonde chick wasn’t acting up, he would be comfortable with either Helen or Juana since he knows they have good personalities. And now with Charlotte in the picture, he’s juggling more countries to keep peace.
As for his “split personality”, literally every other manga that has a prince or a man in general would have this “split personality” persona. Come on. Don’t act like this revelation is story breaking logic. At least this makes sense in context since he’s the crown prince and expected to rule. And sorry to burst anyone’s bubble but many people in positions of power have some form of sociopathic tendencies to help them remain strong in that position.
All in all, you’re probably not frustrated at the ML but at the squabbling women and blaming him for something he can’t totally control. He can make an investigation. Sure. But that can only go far before he’s impeded political.
Anyways. I like this story lol
Mamma mia, here I go again
My my, how can I resist you?
Mamma mia, does it show again?
My my, just how much I've missed you
Yes, I've been brokenhearted
Blue since the day we parted
Why, why did I ever let you go?
Mamma mia, now I really know
My my, I could never let you go
It’s literally the plot of Mama Mia but reincarnation trope. Y’all younglings remember that Broadway show?

POV: You’re looking through the comments and debating if it’s worth your time explaining to a bunch of horny pre-teens, teens, and young adults that this is a slow-burn political drama and that this harem is the historical-political type; not the “anime UwU I’m so horny” trope type.
Yeah but the manga cover begs otherwise, we can't help it (=・ω・=)
But problem is the name
WHY USE HAREM IN A NAME
LIKE THE WORD I WRONG TO BE USED AS IT TARGETS A CERTAIN DEMOGRAPHY
THATS UNFAIR PLAY
Name a more iconic duo than clickbait titles and tricked audiences. It’s just the law of the entertainment world, innit. We’ve just been spoiled by Japanese mangas that use their synopsis as their titles. Once there was a time where titles gave nothing away and just kinda allude to a topic in the story. Still happens today.
So its fine if people expect boys more than politics lol
Anyway m fine with either
Good stuff comes with issues haha
