so yes, they are in middle school rn. the start of zheng xi being in university is when jian yi popped back up again, not high school. they will at least be 18 by then. jian yi hasn't disappeared yet in what we are currently reading, but eventually he does on the second day of high school, author will likely and hopefully do a time skip to speed things up, he comes back, and thats about when pretty much all the characters officially get together.
