Kate was such a refreshing character because of being poor and yet dignified...then suddenly we get this boring cliche "oh wait she is a noble lady now" arc. Disappointing af...
Apparently, possessing an absurd amount of wealth is the only true happiness. How could they ever end a story without it?
Even better, make the character actually earn it by running a business or investing really hard worked for money like a real person would (in rental properties for instance). But, well, it wouldn't make a good story for them apparently.
