I think that he still genuinely in love with Shiki but it's been four years without having contact with each other. Shiki moved on and he should too. After all, he choose to leave Shiki (I know he has a reason but still, they are a couple, they should solve the problem together. What he do is just so pure abandonment) without even having a proper break up or even goodbye.
Every dialogues of Kuon are so beautiful that it had me teared up (I actually cry like a btch). You can feel how overly obsessed and in love he is to Nanao and I freaking love that. He always reminds Nanao that he is loved, to have confidence on his self, and to not to be scared of expressing his emotions, bare his weaknesses and not worry too much.
Kuon never disappoint to surprise me of how loyal and devoted he can be. We've seen him care so much to his older ang younger bro and seeing that he has the story that he deserve. Like bruh I love this.

I love this pair so so much. They both suit each other. Kuon with his possessiveness that makes him want to lock up in his protection the fragile and gorgeous Nanao. I just love their dynamic like they are the complete opposite of each other but somehow they have many similarities.
This couple gives me the right amount of drama, seggs, and fluff that I need. That's why I think they are the best pair out of all of them in the series.
I didn't appreciate this couple the first time I read the series, but I think their messy dynamic is actually one of the most mature and intriguing out of the 3 couples. I was a sucker for tsunderes the first time i read this, so I was mostly into the ShinonomexYukimura couple. But now I kinda like this NanaoxKuon couple's dark past but has an unashamedly seductive personality and a serious broody guy turned possessive and soft for his boufriend dynamic.
