I think they are both fucked up but in different ways. I agree that there is nothing wrong with her enjoying sex, if she wants to have sex with a 100 guys all the power to her but i don't agree that she is confident for many reasons. It was pretty obvios things were like that. I think people don't remember Mikha is not a good guy. It's portrayed on the extras as just a cheerful man but that's because... Those are spin offs to have fun. In the end He is mischivious and cruel and on the contrary Feilong is a pretty sensitive guy. He needs and want somebody to trust...and to protect him

It's not about 'shipping', it's about following the history. A fanfic is not the real history and usually take some character out of his way to push it on a certain situation that allows new paths. If fanfics followed the original they would seem boring.
Please don't forget Mikhail is not a good guy and probably won't hesitate to crush Feilong or anybody in his way if fits hi sconvenience

In the light novel there's something about Mikhail (Michael) having the name of an angel, but being cruel inside. When I read that part, I remember instantly the novel: The Godfather. Both have few things in common: "The things that you cannot refuse" (in the light novel: forgiveness in exchange of a last mission) and fratricide (in the light novel and in the movie The Godfather-second part ).

I kind of disagree about this. Feilong and Asami are cruel, right, they're from mafia after all. Murder, rape, there's nothing for them. Yes, they are cruel but that doesn't mean they are heartless.
Asami loved Feilong (unfortuneley not in the way Feilong would wanted), He put an effort to protect him for all those years in silence, not hoping to be rewarded in any form. Feilong too can crush his subordinate face with bare hands without a though but his heart was broken when his father died. They are man who try to be cold and strong for the kind of life they have... but know where is the line between beeing a cruel man and being just garbage.
Mikhael is... well, He just do whatever He wants to be on the top, without showing any caring about anybody else but himself. Maybe someday He will found too the person whom makes him break, but it's clear Feilong isn't. Sorry.

If Asami raped Aki the way it usualy looks in real life (no pleasure, no preperation, just abuse and poor victim being fucked up forever) then this manga wouldnt have so many fans or at least nobody would like him. allways on manga are pleasure on the raping part, just because xD it's porn! they allways are turned on. In this story "the rape fantasy" reigns, but it's such a turn off if it's too much exposed. Some of the "rapes" look more dramatic than others. I didn't like, for example, the first book of this story. I started to appreciate it when it becomes a noir story (with the second book). Some of the "rapists" in this story are more appealing than others. Probably mvnyv finds that when it's enough it's enough. The use of the same stereotype (fantasy rape o sexual abuse) it's a little tiring in the long run.

Volume one surely wasn't a turn off for me back in the days, not at the very least, I obsessed over it :L.

The only scenes I don't really enjoy are the first few ones with Fei Long, and then whatever happened with Yuri. Wayy too serious to be really enjoyable, but I don't mind them. But Sakazaki fitted right into my tastes, he was so casual about it :L (and not even a rape per say, but oh well aha).

To everyone their own thing, I'm glad to be able to enjoy the manga the way it is intended :). But I do kind of like Akihito being played by other people than Asami. Never gets tiring to me.

Personally I really hate it when people shame other people's kinks or fantasies if they are not harming any other living thing and are within reason. Similarly rape in Yaoi will thankfully most of the time not reflect any of the sheer horror of RL situations and I think I can safely say that no readers of Yaoi condone RL rape in any way shape or form anyway.

I've only come across one manga in my 10 years reading that I never ever want to read ever again. It was traumatising and humiliating for the Uke with none of the usual 'they end up enjoying it and craving it impossible love story' (like Akihito etc) it left me cold and upset for many reasons….

Like a rape fantasy, fantasy being the key word - obviously it's not like you are hoping it'll happen to you in RL and you go around hanging out in little dark alleyway's on the hope of bumping into a RL Asami as a result. But Yaoi inspires and opens up its readers to self exploration, acceptance and to do away with the usual shame certain societies impose on sexuality and gender roles, which I think is a great thing.

Oh yes and I would actually get bored with the manga if there weren't other men after Akihito, I'm not into lovey dovey manga with one set pairing - too much like RL. And I know it's a weird point but Akihito and Asami always have sex in the same positions…you need to change it up a bit! :P

To tell you the truth, I like this story because of the ganster/noir plot( I loved "The black Dahlia", for example). The first book looked more like a De Sade story, I'm not so much into sm fantasies to be honest. I like novels/comics/ mangas/essays of any topic, I'm a little omnivorous with my literary tastes. Yes, I'm not that much into the "rape fantasy" but I understand that and the way it works. :)

I think that everyone is entitled to have their own tastes and preferences, at least the fanfiction that you mentioned is known to be well written. I can't say the same about many fanfictions outside that seem to be written by five years old girls (with all due respect for children). :)

I dont want to say i hate rape fantasy. I guess in mangas everything depends on how its pictured, the way both parts responds to it. Previously i liked volume one just as much as you. I'm into bdsm just that now my outlook on things like rape or dominance is more...defined. So when someone says they'd like to see one of characters (fei) raped my response is "No way". "Rape fantasy" and dominance in yaoi isnt something new, everything depends on how autor portrays it (if its smexy like in volume one or just degrading like in reality). Theres a thin line beetwen smexy rape and im-never-reading-this-shit-again kind of rape

I think everybody have to be pretty honest about this kind of things, 'cause when you try to negate something is when everything turns to the bad way.
The truth is that we are reading things that must be disgusting, accepting some unforgivable actions just because they make it look "cute" or "hot". This is no reality, and you can enjoy it as you want because it's not real: nor the persons, nor the situation, anything. Being moralist while reading a gangsters story full of porn... well, I don't think we should mix those things here. (sorry for my bad english)

You don't have to feel sorry for your English, I'm not an English speaker too. Yes, the 'rape fantasy' is only a fantasy, it can be something that you like or not. I'm not so much into that kind of fantasy (because I have another kind of fantasies, possibly weird for other persons) , but I accept that for what it is. Nobody here is blaming others for that kind of fantasy. The 'fantasy rape' is 'liberating' for so many people. I know what it works. Sometimes I only wonder if the many underage persons (really underage) that read this kind of stories are able to understand that this is only 'fantasy rape', something that has nothing to do with rape in real life (one of the worst crimes on earth).
