How so ?
Basically both dads are really bad at the beginning - one because he’s both busy and deeply hurt, the other because he’s an egomaniac psycho without an ounce of empathy
Both dad get to change and grow to be good
But You’ll forgive one and not the other ?

Isn’t there’s a strong bias there : the emperor is judged based on a mean fanfiction. The prologue is not a vision of past or future, it’s about a book ; why is it drawn like it’s the real characters, when it’s a mere fiction ? What is shown in the first chapter never happened !
So we hate him for things he didn’t do and had not intentions to to do (if you read the spoilers, the og stories never had that kind of bad endings)
If you see him without the fanfic’s perspective, he is certainly bad, but not much worse than many of these autistic dad characters who only melt with kid cuteness (miracle of fiction)?
He’s grieving, he doesn’t feel a connection (logical btw) and he doesn’t like a child who took his lover from him : but honestly how can the relationship be simple when a mom dies in childbirth ? Can you control truly how you feel ? Even if you think and know it is wrong, who can claim for sure he would have no bad or mixed feelings ?
Then he’s truly very busy and has little chances to change, if no one does anything to let him know the child. Given the opportunity, he certainly learned to care and became pretty ok - by the time the other girl appears, he’s already head over heel for his fake girl and never wants to abandon her
In fact, the one who added difficulties in their growing relationship is the little girl who’s conniving to survive : she also never gives him a chance to be seen for himself, never trusted him even when he broke the rules for her, and she defined him as a fictional character - out of a book, never acknowledging his changes and growth ?

So the all breaking up with him because he said something awful a decade ago seems really too much
Who wouldn’t be condemned if we were judged on past mistakes ? Don’t we all have moments when we say terrible things or do things we regret … ?

Also, he - at least - didn’t reproduce like a rabbit, having no care for either the women or the non magical kids, to the point he wouldn’t even know about his own litter ! Really, does that my guy also become a good parent for his sons, or is it ok with you if he’s just his daughter fool and continue to abuse his other kids ? Not even mentioning how many more can be like her !

When i read the spoilers, it feels very unfair : it’s common to convert too bad guys into good guys and forgive both, fine … but, i don’t get the extra drama about the emperor and i feel the total absolution of the cat magician is bewildering

If i had to chose i have more empathy for a grieving man, than for mad magical scientist spreading his offsprings to get his hands on powerful magician /successors ?

Everything is truly bad - child abuse and neglect are evil, and’s i’m fed up with these backgrounds
Brrr … all in all, this setting feels very disgusting to me

I don’t see the cute in taming mentality disabled dads, one after the other,

I agree, the emperor honestly deserved a better ending. He was cold to her when he was a child but later on he seriously loved her soo much. I really don’t get why she reacted that way and didn’t give him a second chance…
She followed her real father (who had no interest in her and couldn’t care less till he found out she was different and special thanks to her brother) and her brothers showing that at the end blood was more important to her i guess.
Whereas the emperor was ready to keep her as his daughter even tho they aren’t related, and after all the things Kathrine did. Isabella potentially died because she lost her bestfriend and had to go find her…

This BL is already completed in Korean. We only have 2 more chapters to go and this is it. It has a good ending.
