Omg what an ass XDDDD Flirting with your lover right in front of your friend that is crying his eyes out about his failling love life. Now that's a choice ( ̄∇ ̄")

Think of it as not-so-subtle encouragement for him to get rid of his single status.

angie June 12, 2020 2:14 pm

When I got to the second couple I thought nothing could excuse cheating. I was 1000% behind Doyun's back. Now I think he needs to stop living as a victim, although I believe he is a victim. But more then a victim of his ex (don't worry we'll get into it), he is a victim of society that has no place for LGBTQ+ people. Cause when you think about it Doyun's and Wonhae's story in the story of LGBTQ+ people putting on masks and going into hiding to adapt into society.

when we meet Doyun he seems like the most well put together character in the story. He is in the same space as Gyulwoo, that as the least put together person on the story, is going from one hardship to the other since his teen years. But although they are in the same space, Doyun seems like he belong to a whole different level - and in comparison he looks perfect.

Well, Doyun's tragedy is just that - the fact that he tries so hard to be perfect on the outside, but he can't get over the fact that in the inside he is a sad, broken little man. All of the time he tries to please, to get along, to help others just to let himself get run over by other people in the way to fake comfort of good stable life and the feeling he is accepted.

I think people don't really get how difficult of a partner Doyun was. While he portrayed himself as the perfect loving boyfriend, he's actually rotten.
He went to dates, arranged marriage meetings, all kinds of gatherings that Wonhae didn't agree to and all of it over time, without the intention to ever stop. When Wonhae tried to talk Doyun about his problems multiple times, Doyun laughed at him and didn't bother taking him seriously.
Do you know how hard it is to constantly try to talk to a person that doesn't bother taking you seriously? That's torture. It belittles you, breaks down your self esteem, make you unimportant. That was Wonhae's mindset at that point.
And that is actually Ironic, since Doyun made Wonhae feel like how society make him (Doyun) feel: Unnoticed, unimportant as he is, not worth it as he really is. And so he tried to reach to unrealistic expectations and portrayed them to Wonhae as well, making him a part of his inferiority complex.

And yes Wonhae's not innocent - but his problem is that he fell for the same facade just like anybody else, just to be forced to take part in it later on and cracking under pressure.

That was the point Wonhae should have cut it off, because Doyun's toxic my way or the highway mentality made him ignorant to an insane degree (I'm not sure about a change but we'll see, for now he is kind of a crying mess. This is his transition period I believe. Unless he lets himself sink further into his victim mentality) and he shouldn't have bothered changing that since he wasn't a therapist.
But when the series at a whole conclude the fact that dating as a gay man in Korea is a hard experience, I can understand why Wonhae didn't want to get back out there. Not when he had a partner he loved right there beside him.
And also, I think Doyun attitude might have pressured Wonhae into the need of getting attention and appreciation from him. He wanted to be acknowledged, needed, important by and to Doyun... just like how Doyun needed this from society.

So Wonhae made a mistake and chose to try making Doyun see him in a different light. And that was wrong and fucked up, I agree. Gaslighting as hell. But something interesting is that Wonhae didn't really cheat on Doyun. He just made him think he was cheated on, and got "what he wanted" this way.
Wonhae used Doyun's methods on him... and it worked.
But it seems like Wonhae got what Doyun failed to understand - that facade rewards him in a way that he isn't interested in. It painted him as a different person. And when Doyun, the main reason for it, preached him and wanted to be heard by Wonhae and maybe even hear what he had to say, Wonhae couldn't take it. Because when he was himself, Doyun never listens.

The sad thing is that Wonhae could break it off and be heard outside of their relationship, he could get back to the "before". But Doyun will never be able to break from the society he tries to please - yes he could move... but that won't happen when he is so mind washed and hang into the idea he can change himself to please others. And basically... live for the sake of others.

I honestly believe that all of this came from not only miscommunication, but also the fact that those two never knew each other nor bothered to learn each other while in a relationship. As they were, their time was always limited. But this is only a prove those two were not meant to be at that point in time, and should have broke up. and I'm glad they did. Wonhae learned his lesson. And Doyun? For now I'm not sure. And I hope he will learn to understand that sometime you make yourself into a bigger victim just by looking at yourself as one, because like this, he will never be happy. He needs to understand that he is the biggest reason for his own unhappiness and work to change this. For now he has the tools to understand himself and realize himself as a human being, and I hope to see him walks out of it a stronger more confident men.

Personally I believe those two will get back together, since the only person that knows Doyun completely is Wonhae. Although I think it's going to be long since it never seemed like Doyun had actual interest in Wonhae until he slipped away. But regardless if Wonhae finds this new love fitting, I hope he will be happy and noticed as he needed all of this time. And in that case I hope Doyun finds it elsewhere too.

I didn't think it'll be so long fuck I just planned writing a defensive Wonhae post damn XD But I think I re-discovered my love for Doyun, he is just another lost boy at the end of the day.

Dang didn't realized that i read all of this hahahaha. I get your point and both are to blame but the most hurted one is wonhae because doyun tried to do things that can hurt his partner. Actually i still want them to end up with each other again and have sex but I've come to like the teacher too (/TДT)/

Mediocre at best. It's not bad nor good, but the treatment of really deep emotional experiences was all wrong. The characters also had potential but ended up being cliche because of the time frame and lack of work around it. It needed more time.
If this is the author debut I really can't say anything, it's hard as is to get publicized, and I do believe there was some kind of awareness in their writing that made this story bearable, but at some point I do think they needed to understand that this amount of space was what they had to work with. This should have been longer and deeper.
Unfortunately it goes on the list of stories I won't remember. Oh well ( ̄∇ ̄") I hope the author could prove their potential next time~

I almost missed it. Omg I'm so glad I read this;_____;

She has all of the reasons in the world not to be open and let him know what's on her mind. He just fell in love for the first time and has no clue how it works. They are not in a normal relationship, they need time to build it up. She needs the ability to trust him, and he need to learn how the fuck it works.
Blaiming them when you know the full picture sure is eazy (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜

Re-red Tidal wave just to say - character design is so strong in this one. I wan't to re-read again just for this reason alone XD Man I'll come back here for a looooooooooong time.

angie June 8, 2020 11:34 pm

Starting the rereading late at night was a terrible choice but I'm glad I did it. It's still as great as it was. One of my faves. Just a great, touching story overall.

I feel abandoned. Usually I hate it when a series is going on for too long but I can read 1000 chapters of them and still want more. I got used to the updates Σ(っ°Д °;)っ The ending came too unexpectedly.
Abd I get it that it's iver and someshere glad tgat it wasnt pulled for too long buttt not giving us the baby is a crimeeeeee
I'm going to re-read their story for the 100th time soon.

Does anyone ave a reccomendation for a couple who has similler dynamics as theirs?

angie June 8, 2020 10:47 am

I just hope the friendship between Ebony and Gillian would last! It has so much potential and they both deserve something like this. I need this friendship to happen XD
