It was mentioned that it was because of timing. KAITO did say that he hopes this story will be one that helps if people will be faced with choices. For Kuze and Taichi, they were young, plus in a long distance relationship,which maybe did not help on top with many things that adulthood brings.

For KAITO, he just shows an answer that most wont take. After all, most people often stick to their first loves, childhood/highschool sweethearts, all romances fixed from the beginning. KAITO emphasizes on the chance and capability to choose. So you can choose to accept the Taichi who ended up learning and be free to love someone else in the end, or be someone who sticks to their first. As for Kuze, you can believe that she was still the same Kuze who does not want to leave her first love (to love him till the end), or the Kuze who can confidently say words of blessing to the current spouse of her ex.

i think the timing was referring to taichi not being able to attend futaba's wedding and everything you said i do understand -but i just needed to know specifically what directly contributed to their breakup not that i'm unhappy with the ending (i do find first loves that come true unrealistic tbh) lol

I guess, but Taichi said "our timing always suck" it implied that 'timing' wasn't just a one time thing that contributed to their eventual break-up.

I did think it refers to their long distance relationship, their schedules not matching, meeting new people, and opportunities, especially for Kuze. Since Kuze was implied to be attending a big unversity located far from their hometown, it wont be surprise if she was given opportunities that somehow barred her from spending time to travel back to Taichi, or entertain him when he visits.

It's kinda sad, but seeing Kuze happy was such a relief. And the way Taichi carrried himself confidently now as an adult, sent me gross sobbing. They've come so far, even if not together.

yeas seeing them happy gives you closure so it's all good... but you can't just up and murder curiosity even if you can guess the reasons you still need confirmation yes... where's kaito im not done

My takes on this story is we see how every character have a choice that they should make at this story the most major one being taichi choosing kuze during highschool we see their development of feeling and how they move with their relationship during highschooland think taichi make the right choice since he found happiness in his current choice but at the end we see taichi didnt end up marrying kuze. It put greater emphasis on the theme the author is taking here which is "choice". You are constantly being given to choose during during your life and you never know if your choices is right or wrong. We dont know whether taichi choosing kuze during highschool is the right thing or not since even slightest difference of how thing goes would have effect in the future. And even outside of highschool they are still facing bunch of choices that impact their life. I think the author purposely not include taichi and kuze reason for break up only to sum it as "timing" because he didnt want to frame it as "absolute fault" in any character. In the end the choice they made outside or inside the told story has lead them to an ending (be it happy, sad or anything) even if some would disagree and question their choice.

Yea it's an ugly truth... if someone in their medical report appears to have history with depression, antidepressants, drugs or mental treatmans it's harder for them to be employed because of the possibility of regression.
