But she still has many mannerisms of a Japanese person. Bowing in apology or deep respect isn't really found anywhere with people of her skin color and mode of dress. It's kind of geographically locked, actually. Outside of religious tradition, you don't see bowing anywhere else in everyday life except in deference to royalty or someone of a much higher station that requires such formalities.
Her cape appears to be a typical piece you'd find among the Plains Indians of North America, and the vague patterns certainly point to that. She wears her scarf that is typical of Middle Eastern influenced regions of the world, though. But she does have those "squaw girl" braids in her hair that are stereotypically associated with First Nations of North America.
Aah, I'm reading too much into it. I feel a little off-put by the vague "exotic" feel of her without it being pinned down (something Japan seems to be guilty of as much as the West when it comes to taking stuff from other cultures without giving credit where it's due), but she's cute so this manga's got that going for it I guess.

Their relationship is subtle. One is clueless but obviously wanting a relationship, the other fighting rejecting the half-assed (sometimes unconscious) advances but recognizing that at the very least they care for each other as bros.
It builds with time and laughable shenanigans, as all long-lasting and emotionally healthy relationships do. All other yaoi mangakas should take notes, because this blends sexy with "aww" and a lot of humor without it necessarily ruining the current mood, as that kind of batting away the dumb straw-blond's desire to snuggle and get close is part of the..dare I say, foreplay, of their relationship.

oh dear god, I agree So much with you!
Ever since I found 19 days, no other yaoi can compare. Unlike 19days, other yaoi's are too straight-forward, too short and rely too much on smut, thinking that'll be enough to make the series good.
19days is Sooo good in every way, and is hereby declared the champion of all existing manga o3o
This is a seinen manga and as such it deals with the real life in a non-flowery way. It's an unobtrusive look at a relationship between two gay people. I mean, with all of the yaoi smut that is so infamous and depicts gay relationships in such a sexually-charged manner, this is a much more realistic and wholesome change of pace. These men are in their 40s for God's sake, the time for having risky sex is long past. They're mature, established gentlemen and this is the life they lead. Find it boring? Too bad. Skedaddle back to your plot-thin smut.
