I get you but I don't hate them. The brother is totally under the control of the author from what I can see and Reese/Lise looks to have lived the story over so many times that she's so tired of fighting for the right thing anymore because it always works out in the way the author wants.

Nah, fuck them both. Reeze is actually the author and they want things to continue the same because they idolize the idea of Reeze (a forever young, beautiful, and loved female lead that is the center of the world) she legit brought in souls to be in the body of Edith cause she got bored, and made them live through terrible deaths. Once her control over the story breaks, the cycle stops, so she wants to prevent that by killing the current Edith. Anyway, Cliff knows about Reeze’s personality and even when all her control is gone, he still stays with her and fucks over Edith. Hate them both.

(Honestly, I realized recently that it’s probably because of my anxiety XD I’ve legit cried for hours after a favorite character of mine died or the mc didn’t end up with the person I wanted them to end up with lol. Saves me the heartbreak and also second male lead syndrome lol XD)
I know the feeling but the mystery is also part of the fun of it. For me, it's not the real world so that pressure is off, even if I don't like the outcome. I get you about a favourite character dying too. I read a book once and the female lead died. I was so gutted, I cried for days.
